BIBLIOGRAPHY

We must concede that our study of THE HOLY QUR-AN:

Translation and Commentary (English) is limited to the works of six
writers only, namely:-

- Allama Abdullah Yosuf Ali

- Marmaduke Pickthal
- Allama Abdulmajid Daryabadi
- Agha Mohammad Yaqoob
- Moulvi Sherali
- Al-Haj Ghulam Serwar

However, the English translation of the verses in this volume

from the first author as mentioned above. Besides the above literature,
the authors took help from the Quranic and related publications of the
followings:

- Mulana Abdul Kalam Azad (Urdu)

- Moulana Abu Alla Moudodi (Urdu)
- Allama G.A. Parvaiz (Urdu)
- Maulana Fateh Mohammad Khan (Urdu)
- Allama Mohammad Iqbal (Urdu)
- Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Khan (Urdu)
- Allama Ibn Kasir (Sindhi)
- Allama Abdul Waheed Jan Sarhandi (Sindhi)
- Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi (Sindh)

Nevertheless, a liberal use was made of the essays, letters and

speeches of Allama I.I.Kazi, the great thinker of Sindh, as compiled:
“CASUAL PEEPS AT SOPHIA”, by A.K. Brohi (Sindhi Adabi Board,
Hyderabad, Pakistan). Further, guidance was taken from: “Nuskha-i-
Qeemia”, published by Taj Co. English translation of some stray verses
from “Shah-Jo-Risalo” (translation by A.M. Yaqoob and Elsa Kazi)
have also appeared in this volume. It is usually said that translation
lacks the true fervor and fails to capture the real essence of the original

writing. The above mentioned translators of the Holy Quran and the
verses of the different mystic poets as occasionally quoted in this
volume should be complimented. Their effort had been successful to
capture the real spirit behind the original writing making it more
endearing and absorbing. No doubt, these outstanding personalities
have left deep imprints on the sands of time:
