EVENT DESCRIPTION
1)FIX IT FELIX

Description:
To all those who wants to use their “super awesome” technical skills, Fix it
Felix event helps to achieve it. We all are Engineers and we always deal with
some kind of problem frequently. “Fix It Felix” as the name suggests, a problem
will be given during the event and it needs to be fixed.
This event consists of two rounds in which the first round consist of general
questions. And the second round will be based on the problems given and the
participants have to solve it efficiently to win the prize.
Judgement criteria:
The first round is an evaluation round, based on the score of the participants, a
minimum mark would be set. Participants who score minimum mark or above
moves to the second round.
The second round will be judged based on how efficiently the problem is solved
considering all aspects and justifying the ideas proposed by the participants.

RULES:
 A team shall consist of maximum three participants.
 Individual participation is also allowed.
 Participants are not allowed to use mobile or other electronic instruments.
 The decision made by the panel is final.
2) TECH-A-THON

Description: A technical treasure hunt in which you have to put in both your
technical knowledge and detective skills to unveil the treasure within.

Judgement criteria: 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions are based on who finds the
treasure first.

RULES:

 Only team entries are allowed.

 Maximum people allowed in a group are 4.
 Replacement of any participant in a team is not allowed after registration.
 Preliminary round
o Every group will be given a set of questions based on general
science and math.
o Groups will be eliminated on the basis of the scores obtained.
o In case of a tie in scores, time taken to complete the quiz will be
taken into account.
 Further details of the game will be told to the selected groups before the
event starts.
 Groups who qualify the prelims round will go to the next round
commencing the game.
 At each round, few groups will be eliminated based on the time taken to
reach the location.
 final three groups who find the treasure will win the cash prizes.

 Description:
Are you ready to showcase your knowledge of chemical engineering to
the world. If so, bring a team, participate and win exciting prizes.

 Judgment criteria: 1st,2nd ,3rd positions are based on the score.

GENERAL RULES
1. Only team entries are eligible.
2. A team shall consist of max two persons.
3. The decision of the quiz-master will be final and will not be subjected to
any change.
4. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic
instruments.
5. The questions shall be in the form of multiple choice, True / False
statement, Specific-answer question etc.
6. *Questions will play a deciding role in elimination round in case of a
tie.
7. Audience shall not give any hints or clues to the competitors.
8. Replacement of any participant of a team is not allowed after
registration
9. Teams selected for the final rounds will be allowed to give themselves
an appropriate name related to the competition by which they may want
to be known

ELIMINATION ROUND – (In case more teams register)

1. Each team would be given a set of 25 questions to be answered.

2. Time limit - 20 minutes
3. Only 5 Teams would be selected for FINALSTAGE ROUNDS.
 4. The selected teams shall have to appear for the final round.

FINAL QUIZ_ STAGE ROUNDS

Round 1 : A question will be asked to a team and if they are unable to answer
it will be passed to the next team .No of Questions:20

 Each team would be asked 4 questions each.

 10 marks for correct answer and NO negative marks for wrong answer.
 If a team cannot answer the question, they can pass the question & then
the question would be forwarded to the next team.
 Answering time is only 30 seconds.
 Team discussion is allowed.

Round 2: Rapid Fire Round : -Each team will be asked 10 questions one after
another in one minutes time- : 60 questions

 10 marks for the correct answer and negative 5 marks for the wrong
answer
 Answering time is only 3 seconds
 Team discussion is allowed
 If a team cannot answer the question, they can say pass for the next
question. The question will not be forwarded to the next team.

Round 3 – Buzzer Round- A question will be fired & the team who presses the
buzzer first get to answer first – 6 Questions

 10 marks for the correct answer and negative 5 marks for the wrong or if
team doesn’t after they press Buzzers. – No forwarding
 Answering time is only 30 seconds

Round 4- Audio-visual round

Teams will be shown clips and will have to answer. rounds 2 : 12
questions

 10 marks for the correct answer and negative 5 marks for the wrong
answer
 Each Team would be asked 2 audio-visual questions. ( 1 slide in each
round )
 Answering time is only 30 seconds.
 No passing to the next team. Audience can answer.

** SURPRISE ROUND IN CASE OF TIE IN THE FINAL ROUND

4) MODEL INDUSTRIAL CONFERENCE

Description:
Engineering programs almost all around the globe include courses and training
that give full capability to the graduated to work across industries. An engineer
learns how to design and control a process. He should be able to zoom in/out the
issues so that while focussing on specific micro things, have a macro big picture
of the whole subject.
Model Industrial Conference is an event, where a set of industries would be given
and the contestants are supposed to devise effective mechanisms to manage the
industries by controlling the utilisation of external resources and internal by
products to yield the optimum outcome. Contestants would be evaluated on their
skills to effectively interpret and present their ideas.
Judgement Criteria:
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be given to the contestants who effectively interpret
and present their ideas.

 The event is open to all departments.
 The size of group should not exceed 4.
 The participants can do the presentation in the form of PPTs.
 All the registered students must submit a typed report (the topic and
submission date will be released soon). This will be considered as the first
screening.
