EAPP 8494—Navigating the Process

Final Paper Revision Assignment

Choose one paper from a course you are currently taking at MIIS (or
another school) in which you need to make substantial improvement
in organization, grammar, style, word choice, etc. If you do not have
a final paper assignment, please consult with me about a proper
substitution. You will post the document to Canvas and include an
introduction with assignment guidelines and information about your
writing process. The purpose of this assignment is for you to improve
your writing skills by editing concurrently with a course. Additionally, you will be expected to use the
skills discussed recently in class—including punctuation.

Remember: Revising papers is an excellent way to work on editing your work. You will
be amazed about how much you have improved!

When you post to Canvas, please include the following:

1. A brief introduction to the assignment

Describe the assignment to your readers. Be sure to tell us the name of class and professor for
which the paper was written. Also, be sure to explain the purpose of the assignment, the scope of
the paper, and what your professor’s comments were. When you wrote the first paper, what were
some of the language problems you struggled with?

2. A note identifying what you want feedback on

Next, identify those sections of the paper that you revised and ask your readers to give you advice
editing or rephrasing sections you seem to be having trouble with. Note that we will only read three
pages of your paper. Make sure to indicate which pages you want your peer reviewers to read.
Also, it would help if you identified those sections by labeling them (p.3 ¶2) and by highlighting.
Also tell us the page #s that you want us to read (up to 3 pages).

Peer Critique

On the selected dates, we will critique your papers in small groups. You will revise your paper after
your workshop. The final paper will be due one week after your workshop. Attach the first draft to
your revision and turn in paper copy. Please be sure to read and edit your peers’ papers before the
scheduled critique session using the template on Canvas.
