Jyotish Bhushana Course is equivalent to Post Graduate Research


oriented Thesis Programme

ELLIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

• Degree of recognized university or equivalent & Jyotish Visharad


passed in IInd division having scored at least 55% marks

• This Thesis Project is to be undertaken on the recommendation of


and under one of the recognized Guides named in the list given
below.

• Applicant must be a life member of ICAS

MODE OF ADMISSION

• The topic of the thesis may be any specified topic relating to an


important fact of life and it is required to be based on any
classical works like Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, Sarvartha
Chintamani, Sarawali, Phaldeepika etc.

• After the approved Guide gives his acceptance to guide a student


on the aforesaid topic and after submission of synopsis of
thesis, indicating hypothesis along with proposed index in
triplicate, the proposal to admit shall be considered for
approval.

• Two sets of hypothesis and synopsis shall be sent to the Hon.


National President along with photocopy of application form,
Demand Draft, & Life Membership Card and third one shall be sent
to the controller of examination ICAS along with Bank Draft &
application form.

• On approval of the topic, along with synopsis by the Hon.


National President, Chairperson of International Wing & COE, the
study may be commenced. The Hon. National President Chairperson
of International Wing & COE may suggest modification, expansion
in case it is deemed fit.

FEE STRUCTURE
• The Students are supposed to deposit the amount of Rs 2000/-
initially by sending demand draft in favor of Controller of
Examination ICAS along with application form , consent of the
approved guide and recommendation of the guide about synopsis of
thesis etc. and Rs 3000/- by DD along with thesis recommended by
the Guide for final approval, to meet fee and expenses of
examining thesis by person other than Guide and Guide.

METHOD OF STUDY AND SUBMISSION OF THESIS

• The study shall be two dimensional supporting the hypothesis


derived on the basis of the study of various classical works on
one hand and where the hypothesis is applicable and working and
on the other where the hypothesis is not working. Thus it will be
study in contrast as well as proving extent of applicability of
the hypothesis and the extent of non applicability disproving
the hypothesis.

• The purpose of this study would be to find out the main rule,
exception and exception to exception, if possible.

• Minimum 100 charts would be used for this purpose.

• The following charts required to be considered in this


connection.

(i) Basic Rashi Chart

(ii) Navamsha Chart

(iii) Related Varga Chart

(iv ) Shodashvarga & Shastiyamsha chart

• The thesis shall be submitted either in ENGLISH or in HINDI in


computerized book shape in triplicate and shall be sent to
Controller of Examination

• The Thesis shall be submitted preferably within one year period


and may be extended by six months period on the recommendation
of the Guide.

• The thesis will be submitted in triplicate along with


bibliography as well as subject index & chart index shall be
appended to the thesis.
• After examination of thesis and viva voce by experts and
Chairperson of International Wing, the National President may
approve, suggest modification or rejection of the Thesis, on the
recommendation of the experts and Chairperson of the
International Wing.

• Aspirants shall be given title of Jyotish Bhushana after final


approval of thesis by the Hon. National President.

NOTE : THERE MAY BE CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS IN THE METHOD OF STUDY


AND SUBMISSION OF THESIS AS AND WHEN IT IS FELT NECESSARY BY THE HONY.
