Spare Parts

INTRODUCTION

The LM6000 Turbine-Generator set was engineered, designed, and manufactured by Stewart &
Stevenson International, Inc. (S&S). Spare parts support for planned or unscheduled maintenance of the
equipment is available. Stewart & Stevenson International, Inc. maintains inventories of spare parts in
Houston, Texas, U.S.A., and in other facilities around the world.

Spare Parts

In addition to new parts inventories, S&S offers a selected group of components on an exchange basis.
Recommendations for initial spare parts inventories can be supplied. These recommendations will
identify parts consumed in normal preventive (scheduled) maintenance during startup and initial opera-
tion. Corrective (unscheduled) maintenance parts, consistent with the purchaser's on-site maintenance
plan, are also provided. Included in this list will be certain accessories recommended for on-site special
support and systems test calibration equipment. To procure parts through S&S, use the work order
number, model number, serial number of the equipment or component, and the quantity of parts to be
ordered. This information will help the Service Department of S&S obtain the correct parts for this
particular unit. To obtain parts or service, write or call:

Recommended Spare Parts

INTRODUCTION

The spare parts lists that follow are the recommended 6-year spares for two LM6000 (60-Hz) Turbine-
Generator units.

Stewart & Stevenson (S&S) is in no way implying that the parts will all be used or needed; however,
resulting from past experience, S&S has compiled the lists as completely as possible to cover a varying
range of possibilities. Parts not listed may also be needed during commissioning and operating of the
turbine-generator unit. These parts can be procured through S&S at the address listed in Section 1.

Spare Parts Lists

The spare parts lists are separated into several systems of the LM6000 Turbine-Generator unit. Parts are
identified by nomenclature (Device), manufacturer and manufacturer part number (Part No.), and quanti-
ty (Qty). Table 2.1, List of Tables, lists the systems for which spare parts are provided in this section.

Drawings

INTRODUCTION

This chapter contains the drawings required to maintain and troubleshoot the system, equipment, and
related components in the turbine-generator system. Drawings prepared by equipment manufacturers or
vendors are provided in Chapter 5 , and companion S&S drawings may be provided in this chapter.

DRAWING LISTS

The mechanical drawings are listed in Table 2.1, Mechanical Drawings, in Section 2 of this chapter. The
electrical drawings are listed in Table 2.2, Electrical Drawings, in Section 2 of this chapter. Mechanical
and electrical drawings are contained in Volumes I thru VII of this manual.

Drawing Types and Their U s e s

As previously discussed, two types of drawings have been identified in Tables 2.1 and 2.2. These
drawings, mechanical and electrical, are the documents that define the configuration of your unit.
Mechanical and electrical drawings provided have been carefully detailed to include all the engineering
and design data required to fully understand and operate your LM6000 Turbine-Generator set. The
mechanical drawings illustrate subsystem flows, both off-skid and on-skid. The electrical drawings
illustrate interconnection of the devices identified on the mechanical drawings and should be used in
conjunction with the mechanical drawings. The revision level of each drawing produced by Stewart &
Stevenson has been identified by a letter. Questions regarding applicable revision levels should be
referred to Stewart & Stevenson International, Jacinto Port Engineering, Document Control, or your
project contact.

Mechanical drawings

The mechanical drawings included in this manual provide engineering-design and device set point data
on the turbine-generator set and its subsystems. Refer to the expanded explanation of applicable drawing
types that follows in this section. General Arrangement drawings, Flow and Instrument Diagrams, and
Instrument Diagrams are defined in the expanded listing that follows.

Electrical drawings

The electrical drawings included in this manual illustrate device interconnection and control-loop
specifications used in the turbine-generator set and its subsystems. Refer to the expanded explanation of
applicable drawing types that follows in this section. Interconnect Wiring Diagrams, One- and Three-
Line Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, and System Wiring Diagrams are defined in the expanded listing that
follows.

DRAWING EXPLANATIONS

Mechanical Drawing Types

General Arrangement These drawings provide isometric, plan-and-elevation, and physical

Drawings configuration data about major pieces of equipment, including skid
interconnection-interface information and installation and footprint
data. Data regarding the actual size and dimensions of major
equip-ment may be found on these drawings. Related drawings
have been identified on sheet 1 of each General Arrangement
drawing.

Flow and InstrumentThese drawings define the flow characteristics, start pennissives,
Diagrams and device set point and control-logic data. Flow (in gpm or scfm),
filtration requirements, pressure-limiting, and shutdown responses
are identified on these drawings. Together with the wiring and
system wiring diagrams, these drawings define each system and its
related components. Related drawings have been identified, as
they were on the other drawings, on sheet 1 of each Flow and
Instrument Diagram drawing.

Instr~~menr
Diagrams These drawings identify protective devices which have been
interlocked to the control system software and which respond to
out-of-tolerance conditions by activating alarms and initiating
systemwide shutdowns as applicable. Related drawings have been
identified, as they were on the other drawings, on sheet 1 of each
Instrument Diagram drawing.

Electrical Drawing Types

Interconnect Wiring Diagrams These are a series of three drawings (typically the first drawings
found in the section covering electrical drawings). The first of
these drawings provides an overview to the interconnection of
major equipment to the main skid and the turbine-control system.
The two remaining drawings provide the detailed information
required to intersonnect subsystem devices to the control system
and other ancillary items. Related drawings have been identified,
as they were on the other drawings, on sheet 1 of each Interconnect
Wiring Diagram drawing.

One- and Three-Line Diagrams These two drawings define the operation of the turbine-generator
set as it has been configured for installation at your site. Your one-
line drawing establishes the overall configuration of your unit and
its interconnection to the utility or plant grid. Your three-line
drawing further defines the interaction of the systems identified on
the one-line drawing and establishes the manner in which
devices-meters, switches, lamps, and the control system-
interact and receive and transmit data. Also shown on these
drawings are the system circuit breaker and the current and
potential transformers. Related drawings have been identified, as
they were on the other drawings, on sheet 1 of the One- and Three-
Line Diagram drawings.

4-1 -2
Orig
Stewart & Stevenson International, Inc. Chapter 4
Gas Turbine Products Division Section 1

Wiring Diagrams These drawings show simplified wiring for terminal block-to-
terminal block installation and interconnection of control devices.
These are the first level of wiring diagrams and do not provide
point-to-point wiring data. Point-to-point wiring data are presented
on the System Wiring Diagrams. Related drawings have been
identified, as they were on the other drawings, on sheet 1 of each
Wiring Diagram drawing.

System Wiring Diagrams These drawings provide precise, detailed information regarding
device interconnection to the terminal blocks and, from the
terminal blocks, to the control system and the ancillary equipment
that assists the control system in maintaining steady-state operation
of the turbine generator. These drawings detail wiring connections
by wire color, termination number, wire number, terminal block
number, and associated device and applicable end termination in
the control system. Related drawings have been identified, as they
were on the other drawings, on sheet 1 of each System Wiring
Diagram drawing.

Other Drawing Types

Logic Flow Diagrams These drawings define the machine logic that controls system
devices. Each step in the logic of the specific system (e.g., fire
suppression and gas detection or turbine-control system) is
enumerated using standard logic-flow symbology.

Vendor Drawings Some vendors of specialized control system and mechanical

components have job-specific drawings associated with each piece
purchased for your unit. Refer to the applicable vendor tab in
Chapter 5 to locate these drawings. Other data from the applicable
vendor may also be found in these sections.
'
Other Data On the Drawings

Equipment Each Stewart & Stevenson Flow and Instrument Diagram, Wiring
Diagram, and some System Wiring Diagram drawings carry
equipment information on the last sheet(s) of each drawing. This
information provides device tag numbers, part numbers, and device
descriptions (including types of service, service requirements, set
point(s), and other applicable data).

HOW TO USE THIS SECTION

Locating Vendor lnformation in the Manual

To locate specific information, ( I )identify the vendor, by name, for the equipment or component you are
researching; ( 2 ) locate this vendor by name in the Vendor column of Table 2.1, Vendor Publications;
(3) cross-reference the vendor to the volume and tab location; and (4) go to the volume and tab to access
the information.

Cross-referencing Vendor Information to Engineering Drawings

To cross-reference vendor information back to an S&S engineering drawing, use the three-digit number
found parenthetically (in boldface type) that follows the publication date. These numbers are the last
three digits of the S&S engineering drawing(s) containing references to the vendor. For example, (239)
would signify that the vendor data is referenced on the XXX239 drawing (the Flow and Instrument
Diagram for Ventilation System). Use the Bill of Material (usually the last sheets of the engineering
drawing) to find information on the equipment or component.

Additional Infomation

At some vendor descriptions, the reader will be redirected to locate information under a different vendor
name or as part of another vendor-supplied document. For example, American Wanning and Ventilating
is also known as AWV, and Killark information is found in the Wilson Fire manual. Some vendors have
several documents grouped under one tab. If this is the case, each vendor publication is separated by a
blue sheet of paper. If vendors have provided more than five documents, each document is separated by
a tab.

Vendor Information

INTRODUCTION

This chapter contains descriptive operation and maintenance publications for equipment and components
used with the turbine-generator set (Table 2.1, Vendor Publications). The reader can locate information
primarily by identifying the vendor. Publications will be listed alphabetically by vendor name. Each
publication from a vendor is identified by the title found on the publication. The volume number and tab
number cross-reference where this vendor information is located in this manual. Publication dates for
vendor-supplied documentation are shown parenthetically (in italic) immediately following the
document title. Following the publication date are the last three digits of the Stewart & Stevenson (S&S)
engineering drawing(s) where the equipment or component can be located. See Figure 1.1, An Example
of the Structure of Table 2.1, for an example of the additional details that can be found on Table 2.1.
