Introduction

The present work on the city of Italy presents a brief

description of this beautiful place, we can find a climate
with many variations by regions. Part of the economy of
Italy is based on agricultural activities and the other part is
tourism since this is one of the sectors with more growth
of the economy.
The official language of Italy is Italian which is a Romance
language that comes from a variety of Tuscan, the Archaic
Florentine. Regarding religion, 87% of Italians are
Catholics.
Another one of the attractions of Italy is the Gastronomy,
since from here the most famous dishes come out, as they
are; pizza, pasta, risotto and other dishes.
Italy

Italy, officially the Italian Republic (in Italian: Repubblica Italiana), is a

sovereign country member of the European Union. It is a bicontinental
country; its territory is in Southern Europe and it has several islands in North
Africa; its European territory (99.97%) is made up of the Italic peninsula, the
Po valley and two large islands in the Mediterranean Sea: Sicily and Sardinia,
while the African territory (0.03%) is made up of the islands of Lampedusa,
Lampione and Pantelleria In the north it is bordered by the Alps, where it
borders France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The independent states
of San Marino and Vatican City are enclaves within Italian territory. In turn,
Campione d'Italia is an Italian municipality that forms a small enclave in
Swiss territory.
Weather

Levanzo Island, in Sicily. Southern Italy has a Mediterranean climate. The

Italian climatology, generally has a continental character (in the north
central), Mediterranean and subtropical, but presents notable regional
variations. In the first place, due to its considerable extension in latitude:
annual averages in Milan of 25.0 ° C in July and 1.4 ° C in January, while in
Palermo, said means are of 29.3 and 13 ° C, respectively.
Economy

Industrial activity has been the engine of Italian development, and the
current axis of its economy. Faced with this, agricultural activities have
experienced a considerable setback, both in terms of occupation of the
active population (7.3%) and in their share of GDP (3.7%). The agricultural
production does not supply the food demand of the population, and it is
especially scarce in the cattle branch: bovine (Sardinia) and porcine (Emilia-
Romania).

Tourism

Beach in Sardinia. Venice.

Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the national economy with
50.5 million tourists per year and a total of 42.7 billion dollars generated,
making it the fourth country with the most tourism in the world.71 Rome,
the capital It is one of the most visited destinations in the world, with an
average of 7 to 10 million tourists per year.72 The Rome Coliseum with four
million tourists is the 37th most visited place in the world.73 It also benefits
of religious and cultural tourism that generates the vicinity to the Vatican
City with places as visited as the Vatican Museums or the Basilica of St.
Peter.
Language
The official language of Italy is Italian which is a Romance language that
comes from a variety of Tuscan, the Archaic Florentine, 127 and belongs to
the Italic group of the Indo-European family of languages. Until the
sixteenth century the Italian was fully identified with the Tuscan and the
great pre-Renaissance writers of that region (Dante Alighieri, Francesco
Petrarca and Giovanni Boccaccio) whose works enjoyed great prestige and
had a remarkable diffusion throughout Italy and Europe. From that century,
with the internationalization of the Renaissance, Italian literature and
language spread even more rapidly than in the previous period throughout
the Western world.
Religion

According to a study published in the Corriere della Sera newspaper in 2006,

87.8% of Italians declared themselves Catholics, one of the highest
percentages in Europe. Practitioners reach 36.8%, while 30.8% of those
interviewed between 18 and 24 years of age gather at Mass every Sunday,
compared to 22.4% and 28.5% of the subjects interviewed, respectively, to
the age bracket between 24 and 34 years old and between 34 and 44 years
old.
Gastronomy
Iconic products of Italian gastronomy: pizza, pasta, ice cream and espresso
coffee. What was important for Italian
gastronomy was the discovery of America,
due to the acquisition of new vegetables
such as potatoes, tomatoes, morron or corn,
although they were not used on a large scale
until the 18th century.145 The gastronomy
of Italy It is very varied: the country was
unified in the year 1861, and its kitchens
reflect the cultural variety of its regions as
well as the diversity of its history.
Conclusion

In this work I learned some important facts about the city of Italy, so I can
say that this is a sovereign country member of the European Union. It is a
bicontinental country; Its territory is in Southern Europe and it has several
islands in North Africa. The climate that predominates here is varied by
territory, I knew that the economy is based on tourism and agricultural
production.
When working on this topic I also knew the religion of Italy, since the vast
majority of Italians are Catholics, the language spoken here is Italian
