To Whom It May Concern,

I proudly submit this letter of recommendation for Ms. Christine Lina. I have known and worked proudly with Ms. Lina for 1 1/2
years. I am a Substance Abuse Prevention Community Organizer and Youth Advocate Program Coordinator for the Asian
American Drug Abuse Program, Inc. Christine has been a very committed member of the after school student development,
community service, and public health advocacy program in Carson High Complex called the Carson Student Movement (CSM).
Christine’s involvement has been integral to the continued success of CSM by leading the participation of youth, parents, and
community members in substance abuse prevention dealing with underage drinking, marijuana misuse, opioid prescription drug
abuse, and tobacco use in the Carson community. She has undergone skills trainings in the following areas: 1) leadership and
personal development, 2) alternative activities event planning, 3) community service, 4) academic success, 5) youth and adult
collaboration, 6) public speaking and 7) public health advocacy education. She has grown to show and model the best practices for
our Student Health Advocates amongst her peers and fellow CSM members.

She is a natural leader with an outgoing personality. I have seen her coordinate with student clubs and work with other youth in
her Church on group activities such as Red Ribbon Week. As a peer health advocate, she has shown care and friendship amongst
her peers in order to share her knowledge in substance abuse prevention. She is always passionate in discussing negative factors
that contribute to youth experiences and decision making when presenting to the Carson City Council and other youths during our
Youth Leadership Trainings. She definitely takes the time to express out her ideas and thoughts.

Christine helped volunteer in and eventually contributed in the planning of the City of Carson Red Ribbon Week Annual Substance
Abuse Awareness and Prevention events during the 12 th Annual City of Carson Red Ribbon Week Celebration. Her ability to
comprehensively discuss the needs and issues concerning the youths was a major factor in her contributions in the Carson
Initiative for Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention (CISAAP). CISAAP is the collaborative group of City Staff, Community
Stakeholders, and other youth volunteers that puts together the City of Carson Red Ribbon Week.

She helped recruit and develop new CSM members by diligently accomplishing her tasks and roles. She has given presentations
and outreached to several student organizations to educate students about alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug misuse. Also,
she worked one on one with fellow CSM members to plan activities to recruit more participation in our program such as tabling in
Health Fairs, gathering community surveys, and making presentation during the Carson City Council meetings.

I was so impressed by her skills, knowledge, and abilities that I recommended her as a participant for the LA County Substance
Abuse Prevention and Control Youth Listening Session on Marijuana to help the county develop media prevention messaging on
the dangers of marijuana. By participating in the Youth Listening Session, Christine became a founding member of the LA County
Youth Advisory Council on marijuana and other drugs.

Finally, Christine is a leader, a student, an advocate, and a person who played a vital role in the Carson High Complex student life,
collective academic success of students, and the City of Carson community. As part of policy education advocacy on Marijuana,
the City of Carson continues to limit marijuana dispensaries and personal marijuana cultivation in Carson. This will help decrease
youth marijuana access, availability, and use in Carson.

I am so proud of her and highly commend her because I hope to see her continue to become a successful woman through her life.
We have trained her to interact with youths, community stakeholders, and decision makers. She has the skills to navigate through
academic, social, health, economic, personal issues and life goals.

Thank you and if you have further questions please feel free to call me at 213-304-1394.

Sincerely,
