Drake ‘Whereas, The Jefferson County Public Health Preventive unit has encountered difficulty filling a Jong-vacant Supervising Public Health Nurse (SPHN) position, and ‘Whereas, The unit faces inereasing demands for more primary care provider-level expertise, and ‘Whereas, The Sheriff's Department requires timely primary care services for the jail inmates, which is difficult to accomplish with the limited time available from current medical staff, and ‘Whereas, The Public Health Director and the Sheriff recommend creating a shared Nurse Practitioner position in the Public Health Department.
