Significance of the study

The purpose of our research work done is to better understand the nature of
using handheld dvices. The most who will benefit of this research are all the students.
Reading this research will make up their minds of how they use their handheld devices
in everyday lives. Can enhance the knowledge of every student on how to prevent the
dangerous effects of it, they will also know the positive contribution of technology
especially the handheld devices globally. This study will contribute to many students
who using hand held devices. The student will know what are the effects of this hand
held devices when this use it improperly. This will give them guide of how to use it
properly and not to harm them. This study will encourage the many students to be more
responsible users, and encourage them to use technology as advantage in terms of
education.

The study also encourage every teachers to cicerone the students to be more
responsible and encourage them to use the advancement of handheld devices in their
education. The teacher will know why their students affects the academic performances
and what are the different factors of it. The teachers will guide the next generations of a
students in using of handheld devices. The researcher make sure after reading this
research work, students and teachers will certainly get informations in using handheld
devices.

The study of effects of handheld devices to student is what is the good and bad
beneficial of it will be to the students of Dee Hwa Liong Academy. Estimated to 900 and
up senior high school students in Dee Hwa Liong Academy. The Dee Hwa Lion’s are
lucky because they don’t have to go to the library anymore just to search or gather an
information from their activities and assignments because of smart phones, in just a
minute your done in your activities or homework . Also handheld devices may help
student by picturing the notes in the black board or white board to consume time but not
encouraging to be lazy. Its is a helping tool if the student miss a lecture, he/she can
borrow a notebook from a classmate and take a picture of it then after rewrite when got
home. Handheld devices are very useful for the students because they can
communicate their classmates even they are far away from each other and they can ask
if what are the assignments or events that need to be attend with.

According to DepEd Order no. 83 no cellphones during class hour policy,


because cellphones can disturb the class and it can be use to cheat. It is one of the
major rules in Dee Hwa Liong Academy, because even though handheld devices are
very useful to the students it can also be a distraction to the student, instead of paying
attention to their lessons student can be distract by social media. Handheld devices are
useful but if the user are not responsible in using it can make a bad effect on the users.

Handheld devices are useful in 21st Century all over the world, using handheld
device you can gather many information. App developers in India and mobile app
developers from all over the world are now developing applications that can be used to
assist children and students when it comes to education. Teachers are trying to find
educational ways of allowing students to responsibly use their handheld devices in the
classroom as well as Pedagogical communities are turning to mobile technologies for
innovative learning methods. A variety of mobile handhelds are personalized and
flexible and allow students to collaborate with others and synthesize information with
their learning environment. Our technology now a days are getting better as the years
pass by, the different companies of Handheld devices are always proposing a new
technology that can help us in many ways or in study.
