I will give open practice across the class. I wil ask the students ‘warmer’ questions regarding their
roles - Who was Isaac Newton? / Who was Harry Potter? – and elicit answers He was a scientist /
He was a wizard.

The students sing and then they are asked to place the correct personal pronouns before the forms
written on the blackboard.
I will asks the students to use to be in the Simple Past after certain subjects - orally
Example:

Ss: was

Ss: were and so on.
Then, the students use was and were in sentences of their own.
5. LISTENING, WRITING, SPEAKING (20 min)
Activity 1
The students are asked to listen to the CD and read the text silently.. Then they read the text on
roles. Text comprehension
Students must identify in the text the sentences that contain was and were.
Activity 2
The Students are given worksheets they must fill in individually.
Activity 3
Checking the students’ answers and assess everyone’s activity during the English class.
