This is the Dr Tan's Matrix file I created when I was beginning to learn the brilliant 6 systems of Dr
Tan. Initially, it was my summaries of Dr Tan's 1, 2, 3 book as at the time I hadn't had the chance to attend
his workshops and wanted to learn as much as I could until he came back to Australia.
This is still a work in progress and constantly being changed. The goal is to have single sheets of information
that can be used in clinic as a quick and easy reference. This is not designed to be a replacement for real study
with the Si Yuan Balance Method (www.siyuanbma.com) teachers or any others who are faithfully and
diligently continuing the legacy of Dr Richard Tan. I highly recommend that anyone who has the opportunity
to attend any of the Si Yuan Balance Method seminars do so to fully understand these notes.
Following the initial pages which came from my summaries of Dr Tan's Core Foundations and now Advanced
tracks, there is also general information I sourced from a range of Facebook Groups and online
sources. Initially I didn't note down where these came from as these were simply for my own study. If any
of these are your work please contact me and I am happy to credit your name on those pages.
I have also collated all the 12 magic point prescriptions from the 1, 2, 3 book, and also offered a single page
summary of the Seasonal Balances. However, the full 12 magic points or Seasonal Balance explanation is
better served by attending the Si Yuan Balance Method Advanced Track workshop to fully understand this
amazing method. It is well worth the time and money to attend these workshops.
The end of the document starts leaning towards Master Tung Acupuncture. I have included my summaries of
Brad Whisnant's 2016 Sydney workshop (www.bradwhisnant.com) with specific Tung points for specific
areas. Jeff Shearer (http://ethicalpractice.net) has graciously included his summary of Brad Whisnant's 2017
Sydney workshop and following that is the Jin Jin or Musculo-Tendino Meridian pictures from Donald
Kendall which I believe is currently out of print and unavailable for purchase.
Dr. Tan was amazing at synthesizing the information and styles from Master Tung, Dr. Chao Chen, Fang
Yun Peng, Young Wei Chieh, Yoshio Manaka, Lee Kui Chen and others. If you really want to go to the
source of these systems of acupuncture you must read and learn about these fabulous masters.
I hope this document will help future Acupuncturists and students seeking a more meridian style acupuncture
system that can further their TCM knowledge. If there are any questions relating to this document or any
others feel free to drop me an e-mail.

Right Arm use System 1, image the whole arm. Left Arm use System 2, Image just the hand.
Right Leg use another system, image just on the lower leg. Left Leg use another system and image.
Make sure you maintain your YIN/YANG Balance. If you can do a global balance even better! But use a
correct image and side depending on the system you use.
