Facts

 Speculation is a method of short-term investing whereby


traders essentially bet on the direction an assets price will
move.
 Speculation involves trading a financial instrument involving
high risk, in expectation of significant returns.
 The motive of speculation is to take maximum advantage from
functions in the market.
 Those who are engage in speculation transactions are called
Speculators.
 A speculator does not take delivery of the securities bought by
him.
 A speculator does not actually deliver the securities sold by
him.
 A speculator only receives or pays the difference between the
purchase and sale prices.
 A Bull is a speculator who expects a rise in the prices of the
securities.
 A Bull buys securities in the hope that he can sell them in
future at a higher price.

Game

After creating a good rapport with the student, the teacher showed the
board of snake and ladder game. Then, the Teacher asked

What are the rules and regulations regarding the game? The dice have 0-6
numbers. When we twist
the dice, we will get a

move forward.

The game is purely based on our luck. Isn’t it? Yes/No

Yes. There are two symbols in the play chart. One is a snake and the
other is a ladder. The two symbols are arranged respectively. While, The students will think
moving onward, if we reached in the destination of snakes’ mouth.
We will go down through its tail. We will lose our points and
progress. If we get the location of the ladder, we will be moved to
good numbers. Here, the winning or losing is purely based on luck.
Even though, there is a chance of losing, we will try our level best to
move forward with good optimism.

Teacher already prepared 4 students to play the role of various


speculators. These students are well versed about the topic, its role
and functions. One student is assigned to play the role of a Bull; the
2nd is assigned as Bear, the 3rd as a Stag and the 4th one as Lame
Duck.

Student I I am a bull speculator. I have another name


Bull Tejiwala. I am an optimist. I expects a rise
in price of the securities. I will buy many
securities because I can sell them in future
at higher prices.

company for selling them at a premium
before its allotment.
Student IV I am a lame duck. I am struggling. If the
Lame Duck bear find it difficult to meet the commitment
on account of rise in price of share, He will
become me.

Through this Role play students will able to understand different type
of speculators prevailing in the stock market.
