Seniors: St. Clair Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers is offering college
scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to study engineering. The application is
available online or Student Services. Application deadline is March 30, 2018.

junior college for the 2018-2019 school year and must be going into an agriculture-related field of study. Stop

SENIORS: The women of the Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Women are offering four $500.00
college scholarships to four outstanding Catholic Senior girls. Stop by Student Services to pick up application.
Application deadline is March 30, 2018.
SENIORS: Montgomery Veterans Task Force Education Grant is offering one $500 grant that
will be awarded to a student in each district in Montgomery County. Qualifications: Preference
will be given to students having an immediate family member who is a veteran, student must
have at least a “C” average, and family income must not exceed $70,000. Stop by Student
services to pick up application.
SENIORS: Nursing Schools Almanac is proud to announce their fourth aspiring nurse
scholarship. They will award this scholarship to the applicant who best demonstrates: A+track
record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics and A+ passion for the
nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. Scholarship applications will be accepted
until midnight on August 31, 2018. Interested students may visit

The Lincoln Land Community College Foundation is currently accepting applications for the
2018-2019 academic year. Students considering or planning to attend LLCC beginning in fall
2018 are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2018.
LLCC Foundation Scholarships are available for first-time and continuing students who will be
enrolled full- or part-time at LLCC. Many of the scholarships are open to students in any
program of study, with the average award being approximately $1,000 per academic year. Only
one application form is needed to apply for all the scholarships. Students submitting a complete
application are considered for all available scholarships for which they are eligible.
Students from Sangamon, Menard, Macoupin, Montgomery, Cass, Morgan, and Greene counties
are eligible to apply.
The Central Illinois Country Financial representatives are offering ten $2,000 scholarships to
college-bound students in the area. Students who graduated, or will graduate from Sangamon,
Menard, Macoupin, Montgomery, Cass, Morgan and Greene county high schools have the
opportunity to apply for the Country Financial Community Scholarship.
Students may begin applying for the Country Financial Community Scholarship on January 1st,
2018. Deadline to apply is February 28, 2018. To apply, visit

Scholarship Eligibility:
Thirty $2,000 scholarships are available to high school seniors with agricultural career
aspirations, planning to enroll in an agriculture-based college curriculum next fall. Scholarship
application can be found on our website, www.farmcreditIL.com. Direct students to click on the

Thomas H. Moore IEC Memorial Scholarship Program:
The Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship awards ten $2,000 scholarships
annually to students entering college to assist them with educational costs. The fund was
designed to financially assist deserving students in the "electric cooperative family," while also
providing a means for co-ops and individuals to honor deceased members of the co-op family
through memorial gifts.
● Scholarships are awarded to students who are the sons or daughters of an Illinois
electric cooperative member receiving service from the cooperative.
● Scholarships are reserved for students enrolling full-time at a two-year Illinois
community college who are the sons or daughters of Illinois electric cooperative
members, employees, or directors.
● Scholarship, the Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship, is awarded to a student who is the
son or daughter of an Illinois electric cooperative employee or director.
● Scholarship, the LaVern and Nola McEntire Line worker's Scholarship, is awarded to a
student to attend the line-worker's school conducted by the Association of Illinois
Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield,
IL.

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide, need based, merit scholarship for high achieving
students who will require financial assistance in order to attend college. Eligibility
Requirements:
1. Must be a citizen of the United States, 2. Must attend an eligible public high school, 3. Must be
a student in the high school graduating class, 4. Must have achieved a 3.50 CGPA or higher., 5.
Must score 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score); or 1,200 or higher on the SAT (Total
Score), 6. Must enroll at an eligible four year college or university the fall semester following
high school graduation. , 7. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of each
academic year of college., 8. Must complete the FAFSA in 2017. EFC must be less than $6,500,
9. Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants., 10. Must not have been convicted of a felony.
SENIORS: Don’t forget that there are many early action and priority filing dates for the colleges
and universities rapidly approaching.
SENIORS: If you are applying to the University of Illinois, stop by the Guidance Office for an
Application Worksheet to assist you in the process.
Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch, we have a fee waiver in Student Services for the
ACT. Please stop by if you would like one.

CLUBS
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is challenging the LHS students and the Litchfield
community with a weekly challenge. This weeks Challenge is “go do something in a
different way than you normally would”.
SPORTS
The LHS wrestling team finished in 2nd place at the Belleville Althoff Regional on Saturday.
LHS qualified 11 wrestlers to move on to the Vandalia sectional this Friday and Saturday. Bailey
Powell, Will Carlile, Collin Davidson and Blake Uehling all won individual titles. Carter Powell,
Cam Lee, Tyler Thiessen, Kyle twitty, Dylan Maxwell and Jefferson Thomas placed 2nd. Brett
Brakenhoff placed 3rd and Sean Dearinger placed 4th. Great Job!
