? Summary
What are Capillary Strings
? High strength duplex alloy continuous tubing, 1/4”, 3/8”, or
5/8” diameter
? The Capillary String is injected through the wellhead and into
the production tubing
? The Capillary String can be deployed while the well is flowing
? No work-over rig is required.
? The well is not killed or damaged during the installation
? The Capillary String can be left hanging in the wellbore
? Installation depths up to 22,000 feet
? System can be removed and re-installed in another well
Capillary String Applications and Capabilities

? Relieve water or hydrocarbon loading problems

? Reduce corrosion, scale, paraffin or hydrate problems.
? Foam assisted gas lifting
? Chemical or acid washes
? Relocate the lowest gas lift injection point
? Re-instate SCSSV control line failures.

Scale Solubility Test:
Test were conducted with 15% Acetic and Techni-Solv 1780 solutions at 350F at
1000 psi and 15% HCL at 75F and atmospheric pressure. Samples of CaCO3 were
placed into 80 milliliters of each test solution for a minimum of 4 hrs and heated and
pressured as required to meet the test objectives. After 4 hrs the treating fluids and
remaining solids were filtered, washed and then allowed to dry. The remaining
solids were then calculated and the percent of solids dissolved were calculated.

Max CaCO3 Dissolved at Max CaCO3 Dissolved at

FoamXpert Software
To assist with Capillary String liquid loading candidate selection the FoamXpert software is used to
analyses individual well characteristics. Based on data such as depth, tubing size and type,
temperatures, fluid data and pressures the software determines the potential impact of the system.
