Warm Greetings from the Organizing Committee of ASICON 2015 - The Platinum Jubilee Annual Conference of The
Association of Surgeons of India

It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to the 75th Annual Conference of the ASI at Gurgaon, the Millennium City.

Also known as Cyber City, Gurgaon was established in the Mahabharata era and derives its name from ‘Gurugram’
where the Pandavas received their education from the revered teacher Guru Dronacharya. Located adjacent to the
capital city of India, Gurgaon is the most happening part of the National Capital Region (NCR), growing at the speed
of thought. Today it has evolved to become a major business centre and medical hub, having state of the art premier
medical institutes and enjoying the status of the most preferred destination for MICE (Meetings – Incentives- Confer-
ence – Exhibitions) activities in India. Haryana today is one of the most developed states in the country.

Gurgaon is well connected by air, rail, road and metro. Catering to your choice there is a wide spectrum of options for
stay, ranging from premier luxury hospitality to comfortable budget accommodation near the conference venue, the
Sushruta City. This is located at Dhanchiri Camp, near Ambience Mall on Delhi-Gurgaon Express Way (NH-8), an easy

ASICON-2015, being organized for the �irst time in Haryana also happens to coincide with the Golden Jubilee year of
its creation. We in Haryana recognize that modern surgery is effort-intensive and technology-dependent. To deliver
the promise of effective surgery we have themed this year’s conference on “Ensuring Safety in Surgery” with a focus
on “Make in India”. We hope to ensure this through extensive scienti�ic deliberations, ‘Gurukul Skills Centers’ for
surgical skill enhancement of the young surgeons and surgical cognitive re�inement through countrywide high-quali-
ty surgical teleconferencing.

Dear Colleagues in ASI,
Greetings from Head Quarters.

I am extremely delighted to inform you that ASICON 2015, the Platinum Jubilee Annual Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India is
being organized at Gurgaon from 16th to 20th December 2015. I am also glad to note that this mega event is hosted by the youngest and the very
vibrant Haryana State Chapter of ASI.

The Association of Surgeons of India is in the stage of reorganization and rede�ining its role with emphasis on academic activities, skill enhance-
ment and post graduate teaching sessions across the country. The platform of ASICON now is very rich in its academic content, teaching, learning
and sharing knowledge in the �ield of Surgery. The spectrum of surgical issues in different states of India are different and their solutions are also
different. The attempt will be made to arrive at a uni�ied thinking and practice of surgery across the country and to have guidelines for every
burning surgical issue. This will go a long way in strengthening the organization and also to improve our credibility.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the experienced “TEAM ASICON 2015” for taking up the challenge and responsibility to host
this Annual Conference at Gurgaon.

This conference is going to be a scienti�ic extravaganza with ample opportunities to socialize. The popular ASI TYSA Talent Hunt, “a unique
opportunity for the post graduates to have an academic competition & to identify the best PG”, will be concluded during ASICON.
