Divine Animal Hospital is seeking a highly experienced Technician for State of the Art Animal Hospital.

Overview: Concierge practice w/extremely educated clientele who have sweet pets. The patient is our
number one focus, we are advocates for the pets. We have three doctors as well as amazing and
experienced support staff. We are selective with our team mates to ensure a desirious work place. Most
importantly, we all enjoy a healthy balance of home and work.

Veterinary Technician Job Duties:

• Determines animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews; reviewing care plans
and records; completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.

• Cares for animals by taking vital signs; collecting samples; administering medications, drugs, and
vaccines; bandaging and wrapping wounds; performing hydrotherapy, physical and inhalation therapies.

• Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments; securing and bringing
animals to examination room; restraining animals; providing assistance as directed; explaining animal's
status to owner.

• Supports operations by assembling required supplies and instruments; setting-up surgery table
instruments; restraining animals; completing local/regional anesthesia; operating and monitoring
anesthetic machines; hooking-up ECG monitors; preparing surgical site; placing catheters; obtaining
blood gases; cleaning-up post-surgical site; maintaining sterile conditions; obtaining and verifying
medications.

• Maintains animals by feeding and watering animals; cleaning animals' rooms, cages, and equipment;
changing cages; observing for clinical signs of disease.

• Maintains safe, secure, healthy and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments;
sanitizing and disinfecting holding and operating areas; storing sterile supplies; verifying shelf life;
following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Maintains animal records by documenting animal conditions, reactions, and changes; updating
database.

• Maintains equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining


equipment supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional journals.

• Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;

Position Summary

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of all Environmental Learning Center
buildings, grounds, boardwalks, trails, docks, vehicles, watercraft, and security systems. This includes:
Scheduling and serving as primary contact for all Facilities, Groundskeeping and Custodial contract staff
and/or volunteers, ordering supplies, and responding to all operational problems including plumbing,
power, HVAC, pest management, weather related problems, locks and security. Directing service calls
for repairs, alterations and installations. Troubleshooting malfunctions. Performing repairs as needed.
Training and supervising volunteer Facilities and Groundskeeping staff. Working with the Guest Services
Director to oversee all renovation, expansion, and special projects. Serving as point of contact for all
staff, emergency personnel, and the public as needed.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

• Two-year degree in related vocational training with continuing education in Mechanical Engineering,
HVAC, plumbing or related field.
• Previous five years or more of maintenance experience in a volunteer supervisory capacity with strong
communication, interpersonal, computer and budgeting skills.

• Mechanically inclined with all-around knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical and
refrigeration. Hands-on capabilities for repairs.

• Organization abilities to coordinate maintenance projects.

• Demonstrated abilities to manage multiple projects.

• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

• Versed in Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations.

• Valid CPR/1st Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance of all campus buildings, gates, grounds, docks, boardwalks, trails, trees,
lawns and pond.

• Responsible for maintenance of all organization vehicles, watercraft and large equipment for visitor
mobility.

• Maintenance, repair and installation of lighting on campus, including buildings, surrounding parking
lots, trees, walkways and footer lights.

• Troubleshoots malfunctions and responds to maintenance requests. Schedule maintenance staff


and/or volunteers and/or handles repairs personally as needed.

• Prepares and monitors annual maintenance budget and capital expenditures, in conjunction with the
Guest Services Director. Takes corrective action as needed to help assure budget goals are attained.
Processes invoices timely.

• Maintains and updates separate five-year maintenance and capital improvement plans for all buildings
and grounds (exterior and interior).

• Plans, implements and administers the preventative maintenance plan for campus.

• Suggests cost-saving alternatives applicable to maintenance.

• Administers and directs all major and minor repairs and improvements. Procures bids and contracts
for all improvements. Coordinates in-house retrofit and cosmetic improvement program as directed by
management. Works with planners and contractors and coordinates any remodeling.

• Purchasing of all maintenance good and materials; initiates purchase orders for all facilities and
grounds maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, parts and services, as required.
• Maintains and monitors all fire, phone, data, music, cable and TV systems.

• Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.

• Manages the ongoing preventative maintenance program for HVAC, electric, plumbing, roofing, and all
buildings along with ice machines, laundry equipment, fat-tire wheelchairs and walkers, motor vehicles
and other major equipment.

• Conducts daily facilities walkabouts and specific site inspection in an as-needed basis.

• Coordinates appropriate monitoring of fire protection systems for proper operation and training
personnel for usage.

• Assists in preparation of all necessary reports required by the city and county concerning safety, health
and fire and provides for the renewal of all permits and licenses.

• Serves as liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies including health and safety
inspections and city building department.

• Assures that OSHA work requirements are met and that MSDS’s are available. Ensure new regulatory
requirements are met.

• Maintains work order database on a daily basis.

• Maintains a log for all equipment repairs.

• Trains, schedules in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator, and oversees all Facilities and
Groundskeeping Volunteers.

• Perform daily checks on aquarium filtering systems.

• Effectively coaches Facilities and Groundskeeping Staff and/or Volunteers. Proactively supports
Volunteer involvement and development; maintains Facilities and Groundskeeping Volunteer
performance standards and keeps Volunteer Coordinator aware of Volunteer performance.

• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment with continual emphasis on
promoting Staff, Volunteer and Visitor health and safety. Trains appropriate fellow employees and
volunteers in proper safety techniques.

• Conducts daily opening and closing procedures for all buildings.

• Attend staff meetings.

• Oversee Housekeeping operations.

• Complete other appropriate tasks assigned by Guest Services Director.

• Plan and manage annual facilities budget in conjunction with the Guest Services Director.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.


• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals.

• Regularly exposed to: wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; cold; heat; and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is
typical of this position.

• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling. Frequent repetitive motions.

• Continuous stand and walking.

The ideal candidate would also serve as back-up Tour Boat Captain for our 16-passenger Trident
pontoon boat that operates from ELC’s dock conducting public and private group tours on the Indian
River Lagoon. To fulfill this function, the below requirements would need to be met:

• Valid US Coast Guard Captains Master’s License.

• Valid CPR/1st Aid certification.

Hours, Salary and Benefits $32,000-$35,000

Full-time, exempt position with health, retirement, vacation and other benefits. Salary negotiable and
commensurate with experience. Some weekend and evening work required.

Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for administering
medications and treatments as well as performing other duties assigned by the Resident Care
Coordinator. If appropriate, you will answer questions of residents and their family members. You will
also:

+ Pass morning, afternoon and evening medications, staying with each resident until the medication is
consumed, then chart appropriately.

+ Maintain upkeep and cleanliness of medication carts and medication room.

+ Keep medication carts appropriately stocked, including recording and restocking of medications from
pharmacy.

+ Lock and store narcotics (according to protocol) until turned over to pharmacy.

+ Maintain accurate, complete and confidential resident medication and care records.

+ Assist with transfer techniques for residents requiring assistance.

+ Assist in other medical duties as appropriate and as assigned by supervisor.

+ Assist with meal service and clean up when appropriate.

We?re seeking patient, positive and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with the elderly and
possess:

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Six months? proven experience as a Caregiver for seniors

+ First Aid and CPR training


+ Ability to occasionally lift greater than 50 pounds

+ Prior supervisory experience preferred
