Pakistan has various religious minorities. According to the 1941 census of India, there were 5.9 million non-
Muslims in the provinces that today form Pakistan. During and after Pakistan's independence in 1947, about
5 million Hindus and Sikhs emigrated, with Punjab alone accounting for migration of 3.9 million. As per record
available 23% of Pakistan's population, including Bangladesh, was non-Muslim minorities in 1947. Since
the Partition of India, it has fallen to approximately 3%. In the 1951 census, West Pakistan had 1.6% Hindu
population, while East Pakistan (modern Bangladesh) had 22.05%.By 1997, the percentage of Hindus
remained stable at 1.6% in Pakistan, while Bangladesh has witnessed a decline with Hindus migrating from
it because of insecurity due to fear of persecution, conflict, communal violence and poverty.[The percentage
of Hindus in Bangladesh had dropped to 9.7% by 2011, with non-Muslims accounting for 10.2% of the
population.

From the questionnaire, we can easily deduce the percentage of illiterate and literate women in Pakistan
from the above table, we can easily see the percentage of non-Muslim women in every province of Pakistan,
including its capital. Now as we have to mainly focus on how to plan a data, there are main steps we will
follow to collect a data.
 First we will use simple random sampling, to select literate and illiterate women all over Pakistan.
 With the help of cluster sampling, we may select the literate and illiterate women as per age.
 The ones who are illiterate and having age more than 40 years old are usually observed doing low
paid job like maid, sweepers and stitching etc.
 Women with age less than forty are also performing the same duties as stated above.
 The ones who are literate they have number of opportunities from which they can meet their bread
and butter for example nursing ,teaching ,office jobs and even at higher hierarchy.
Pre-Testing:
The questionnaire that we have formulated should be simple and clear so that each and every one can
respond easily and quickly. Pre testing quickly depicts whether people comprehend the questions easily.
To achieve authenticated and reliable data, pre-testing will be carried out among women in order to get
understanding about questionnaires. Pre-testing of questionnaire contains the steps of studying filled
questionnaires, data-entry, and its analysis.
Response Rate:
To obtain higher response rates, pre-testing is essential because it can minimize or abate severe potential
sources of difficulty, such as poorly worded questions, frisking in questions and no place is earmarked to
record answers on printed questionnaires.
In case low response is received, questionnaire contained certain points/words which may be modified so
that better understanding may be developed among the sample.
