INSTRUCTIONAL SOFTWARE
Description of how to implement in the class: I would use Khan Academy’s videos on Geometry
that would apply to each student’s need. This would be a self-paced assignment or possibly as a
small group if there are several students struggling with the same concepts. The instructional
software would be used as a way of review/reiteration in a varied approach to assist the student’s
learning and understanding.
Knowing how to assign which student(s) watches which video will come from knowing my
students and their prior success and need for support areas.
Instruction Plan:
• Prior instruction of solving problems based on Geometrical figures and scaled drawings will
have been given
• Students will be broken off separately or in small groups to review material that they have
demonstrated the need for additional supports to succeed in the content
• The students will watch their respective videos and complete the practice provided on that
material in Khan’s Academy until their personal mastery level has been met (if they should
have an A than A, but if their best is a C then a C works too)
• Once all students have mastered the respective support needs then they will be allowed to
move on to the next section they need support
• After all supports have been fulfilled the students will be prepared for the exam
• This use of Khan Academy as an instructional software provided support as well as review
for the upcoming exam
Equipment Needed:
• Classroom set of computer/computer lab
* Examples of common instructional models include whole group, teacher-led, student self-paced, small
group, or individual learning activities. Use as many of these descriptors or other descriptors as apply.
