INTRODUCTION

This synopsis gives a brief detail of my project at the company. As part of our curriculum
we had to undergo project which gives us a better practical knowledge about the
corporate world.

My learning experience with Universal Construction & Machinery Equipments Ltd


begins with my joining. My project report contains all the information about my work
experience with Universal Construction & Machinery Equipments Ltd

The experience what I have obtained from this company had made me understand various
aspects and techniques that can be applied in my future tenure. The purpose of creating
this report is to bring out the various view points about the real corporate world and also
to build up capability to build up capability to adapt to such environment. This report
gives brief about the company profile and the practical experience in the Marketing
Department where I have done my project.

Universal has always envisioned itself, built its foundations and focused its energies and
working towards growing beyond just another sound manufacturing company from India.
Universal have always brought them to reach International standards, raise global
benchmarks in technological breakthrough and set even more respectable quality bars in
competitive success stories. Universal, an ISO 14000, ISO18000. certified company, is
engaged in selling wide range of world class construction equipments backed by excellent
after sales service. It is situated in Pune, one of the top industrial towns of India and
considered to be the “Oxford of East” and just around 150 Kms. from Mumbai, the
commercial capital of India. This company established 1975, employee more than 1000.

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY

Pune is expanding is many ways this by it is attracting number of software industries


manufacturing and services sector, educational sector.
As a result of this population of Pune are expanding day by day for which this is ever
increasing demand for the housing project construction to need the requirement of the
people.
On the background the companies like Universal Construction & Machinery Equipments
Ltd. has a bright future in selling not only established brand product but also the new
invented product but which will cater to need of builder and other constructors.

RATIONALE

Construction and machinery equipments being the hot product in the Construction
sectors. To fight against the source competition small or mid size companies always lack
behind the joint companies like Kobelco construction machinery, Hitachi construction
machinery and Kilosker ,Deccan equipments & Construction etc.
However with the strategy and Promotion effort made by local and global size companies
like universal Construction & Machinery Equipments Ltd. in advertisement and sales
promotion can certain get a more market share.
In increasing of population Pune district as well as normally district these it’s a get
demand for constructions sector.

OBJECTIVE

The first and foremost step in the marketing research process consists of identifying the
need of marketing research then the identification of problem and opportunities
underlying the problem. The necessity of proper identification of marketing problem
cannot be over emphasized. It is therefore rightly said that problem properly defined is
half solved.
The main objective in this project is to get practical knowledge about market condition
Universal Company and dealers face
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY:-
• The aim of the project was identify dealers who are interested to take dealership
for this company product.
• To get the practical experience of industrial environment.
• To get a good insight of Universal Company.
• To understand the significance of various criteria for dealer recruitment.

HYPOTHESIS

1. Today, India has developing infrastructure in every corner of the country. The
reason behind this is the rapid urbanization and the increasing disposable income
of an average Indian family. Even Government has been trying to ensure higher
standards of living of the people for the country. For that reason real state business
are booming. For real state business company need construction machinery &
equipment.

2. To achieve success in business of construction machinery & equipment company


has to plan and strategize each and every step in appointing dealers.

3. By using the strategy dealer of this company not only can achieve this targeted
business but can create brand image also.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This section of the project emphasizes on the procedure used to accomplish the project.
To accomplish the project some data have been collected. The data collected is basically
of two types:
1. Primary Data

2. Secondary Data
Primary Data

Primary data generally means those raw data or data structures that are collected “first
hand” & have not had any previous meaningful intertretation. Hence data will be
collected through observation method & through personal interviews with Cement, Steel,
Sanitory & Paint dealers.
Research Design: For this structured interviews will be conducted.
Sampling Method: For the structured interview I have selected dealer as per their
business convenient.
Sample Size: The total sample size will be 20.which will include dealers & sub dealers.
Sample Area: The interview will be conducted at Warje, Hinjewadi, Pirangut in Pune.

Secondary Data
Any data which have been gathered earlier for some other purposes are secondary data.
For the current research , Secondary data from various internet website(Google, Yahoo,
Ucmeindia.com) and magazines will be collected .(Examples: Universal product
browser, Universal magazine)

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION

Every now & then suppliers are coming up with new and innovative ideas to gain that
something extra. i.e. The “competitive advantage” over their competitors. To gain that
competitive advantage a construction equipment supplier has to make the best use of the
4 Ps.i.e. Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.

Marketing can becoming more effective by becoming more customer-oriented, in the way
that highly successful customer service operations are. The key elements leading to
greater effectiveness are database technology, the use of “frontline information systems,”
better responsiveness and courtesy, and the competence and professionalism of customer-
contact personnel.

Two fundamental mechanisms at the functional level are important. First, marketing’s
focus must change from markets (aggregates) to customers (individuals). Second,
marketing must explicitly define its objective as customer retention as well as acquisition.
Making these two changes require a major shift in the way in which the marketing
function is organized and managed.
As a result of this, company can get more market share and dealer community can get
handsome commission there by making the brand as “UNIQUE”.
