A story that is told. A mystery that can’t be solved, the Bermuda triangle. Legend has it that there is a
triangular area in the Atlantic Ocean; define at its points by Puerto Rico, Island of Bermuda and Miami.
This is where the countless people and more than 70 sea and aircrafts have disappeared without trace
during the last half century. Lots of theories have been offered, some are pure science fiction, others are
more scientific, and some are human errors, and some are focused on bad luck. Stimulatingly, neither
coast guard nor reputable scientist are persuade by supernatural explanation for events in the area, nor do
they even acknowledge that the number of disaster is unusual given that the area’s size and location. The
bad reputation of the Bermuda triangle started when Christopher Columbus looked down at his compass
and noticed that it was giving weird readings. He didn’t alert his crew at first, because having a compass
that didn’t point to magnetic north may have sent the already on edge crew into a panic. This was
probably a good decision considering three days later when Columbus simply spotted a strange light, the
crew threatened to return to Spain. This and other reported compass issues in the region gave rise to the
myth that compasses will all be off in the Triangle, which isn’t correct, or at least is an exaggeration of
what is actually happening as you’ll see. The modern Bermuda Triangle legend didn’t get started until
1950 when an article written by Edward Van Winkle Jones was published by the Associated Press. Jones
reported several incidences of disappearing ships and planes in the Bermuda Triangle and it was a 1955
book, The Case for the UFO, by M. K. Jessup that started pointing fingers at alien life forms. After all, no
bodies or wreckage had yet been discovered. This mysterious body of water is filled with incredible
stories and rumors that if not supernatural are otherworldly. The “mystery” of the Bermuda triangle,
which got its start as a lead story in the magazine, it has been popularized in articles, best-sellers, and
television documentary. This is still a mystery and remains a mystery in time.
Studying this case isn’t easy, because there is no really scientific basis about this, but that also it
makes this topic thought-provoking. Some People believe that there’s a “Monster” lying beneath the
Bermuda triangle, and yet no one knows where it started. Some says that it is responsible for the missing
ships and aircrafts, but even those reputable names in science don’t know where those things are until
now. Theories have been offered, but none of this answers the big mystery some are so close and some
are off beam. Impossible it might be, but there’s always an answer in every clandestine.
III. Objective
This study will be discussing the mystery that lies within the Bermuda Triangle. There will be
citing of reported events or incidents like people or things that went missing at the Bermuda Triangle.
There will also be citing of possible reasons of how these events happened that shows scientific
explanations.
This study will also be identifying whether these mysteries or even the actual existence of the
Bermuda Triangle were true or not. This study will show different explanations, proofs or evidence that
supports the idea of being true or not of the Bermuda Triangle.
The worth of this study is to end the different speculations or conjectures about the Bermuda
triangle by having more understanding about it, this also means that studying this case is really significant
to know if it is responsible for the missing ships and air crafts. This revision is also about ascertaining the
theories about the Bermuda Triangle if it is real or close enough to the evidences that they’ve conducted
first.
