Background of the study

Every city has their own strategies in driving their economy. Due to the increase of
population exponentially and a proportional increase of cars, many streets are crowded
during rush hours .Pedestrians and commuters are being delayed from their appointments
for they use the same path but can only use it alternately. An industry that can help
this problem aside from traffic enforcements is civil engineering. Another way of helping
the pedestrians and commuters from this nuisance is making an overpass for the
pedestrians. This way the vehicles won’t need to wait for pedestrians crossing, reducing
heavy traffic and car accidents.

Traffic, air pollution, and car accidents. These are problems that we feel are being overlooked by
the city governmnet of baguio. Green house effect is a very serious problem and a big part of
this is being caused by traffic.Lives are taken due to unsafe and unsupervised roads..
Our proposal suggest that the government fund a overpass to be build at bonifacio road near
SLU main gate.This will be to help stabelize the flow of traffic and prevent accidents.Drivers
and commuters will have steady trip , students,faculties and other pedestrians wont have to
wait for the road to be safe before crossing, no one will die due to unsafe roads , and mother
earth will have less poluted air.

People have already died due to this unsafe road.

Latest was a student who was crossing the road, using the
pedestrian lane.
We must not wait for more accidents before we take
action.
 Heavy traffic in SLU main gate

It was reported in different newspapers nationwide that Baguio city is the most air polluted in the
Philippines. By making this overpass we will be helping mother nature and our own personal health.
