As we begin the year in Diamonds, I hope you will find this newsletter helpful. We

We are beginning many new activities this year. First up, this October, our Radi-

NYC in March. We have many planned fundraisers for this trip. Please check out the fund-
raising section on page 3 to read more.
Finally, I want to say thank you to all the girls as they have been working so hard
since late July to get ready for football season and the year ahead. Times have been great as
well as tough, and these young ladies have made me proud to say I am their director! I look
forward to all the memories and relationships we will have together as the year goes by!

The DHS Field House will be selling advance tickets to all games from
8AM-3PM Monday thru Thursday and 8AM-1PM Friday each week!
Advance tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. Reserve seating
is $8 in advance.

Fundraiser Information

 Calendar Sales start, look for info coming home Septem-

 Homecoming Dance ticket sales begin September 13 and
go thru September 25 at 3PM. All Diamonds must sell 10
tickets for the General fund for Diamonds Booster Club.
Every ticket sold after the first 10, will be 100% profit
into their account for NYC or their account for needed
supplies for 2011.
 October 8 is our concession night at the DHS Gator game.
Please contact Annette Payne and Wadene West to volun-
teer for this event. We need a minimum of 12 workers to
receive the full $1000 credit

How to support your Diamonds

Any parents who would like to bring up snacks and


drink for the girls after practices on Monday, Wednesday
and Thursday can call and make arrangements with
Mrs, Mills at (281) 229-6512 or email her at
tmills@dickinsonisd.org. The girls work really hard and
always appreciate a mom or dad with goodies! We have
a total of 63 girls on our team so you can know how
much to bring.

Merits to earn this month!

Homecoming Dance needs–


* 2 merits per bag of balloons (silver, black, white, gator blue)
* 2 merits per table covers (rectangular)- blue
* 5 merits per bottle of tempra paint ( found at Hobby Lobby)- blue, black, white, gray
* 5 merits per large bottle of glitter– silver, gold, blue, iridescent
* 1 merit per decorative star in blue, black, silver
* 5 merits per hour helping decorate on September 25 starting at 10AM– Parents too!
* 2 merits per hour of parent chaperone work at dance Sept. 25 6PM-11PM, this includes set up and
clean up.
Medbox needs–
* 2 merits per box of band aides
* 2 merits per container of quality feminine products
* 5 merits per bottle of Advil, Tylenol, Aleve , Motrin, Midol (40 count or more)
* 2 merits per bottle of Germ-ex
* 2 merits per bottle of hand soap

Everyday needs for Dance Room


* 2 merits per package of hair ties
* 2 merits per package of bobbi pins
* 2 merits per package of safety pins
* 2 merits per paper towel roll
There are many other ways to earn merits too, these are specific needs Diamonds have each week.
NYC account payments for September

Payments may be made between September 15-30. All


payments must be in cash or money order to DDBC. No
checks for NYC payments will be accepted anymore, we
are sorry for the inconvenience.

Seniors - please submit your baby pictures for the slide show,
email picture to carol.boyd.collins@hp.com or you can bring
them in an envelope marked Baby Picture with your name on
it. They will be sent home with Taryn and returned once they
have been scanned.
