Disadvantages of Law
 Society becomes over-regulated
 Law and legal practice becomes highly specialized
and remote from everyday life
 Legal processes become lengthy and expensive
 Access to law decreases
 It is harder for the law to respond to social changes
 The law cannot balance all the different values
in society
 It is difficult to achieve equality
 Groups in society reject the law or laws
 Social order breaks down when people lose their
trust in laws
