UNDERSTANDING THE DATA

If you’re new to Jungle Scout, there may be a few different metrics you
aren’t familiar with yet. Let’s break down some of the terms you’re going
to need to know as we get into some of the hottest product trends for
2018.
CATEGORY: This is the category the product will be listed under on Amazon. The Category
has an impact on the Bestseller rank as products are ranked based on their parent category.
For example, Home & Kitchen instead of something more specific like Glassware.
PRICE: This is what the product is currently selling for.
FEES: These are the fees we’re estimating Amazon would charge the seller per unit. Fees are
calculated based on the size and weight of each item.
NET: The net revenue from each item is the selling price, minus the estimated fees. This does
not factor in what each seller spends per unit with their supplier.
REVIEWS: The total number of reviews listed for the product at the time of this eBook’s
creation.
RANK: This is the Amazon Best Sellers Rank. Items are ranked based on the Parent Category,
such as Toys & Games. We use the Best Sellers Rank to create some of our sales estimates
when actual number of units sold is not available.
LQS (Listing Quality Score): The Listing Quality Score is a grade based off an in-house algo-
rithm factoring in the quality of the title, bullet points, photos and description. Product
listings are graded 1-100 with 100 being the best.
EST. REVENUE: This represents the estimated earnings per month for each product, based
on both the Estimated Sales and Net profit.
OPPORTUNITY SCORE: Unique to the Niche Hunter and the Jungle Scout Pro Chrome
Extension, this is an aggregate score, factoring in the demand, competition and listing quali-
ty scores. A higher score here means it’s a better opportunity for sellers. A low score rep-
resents a keyword that may have low demand, high competition, high quality listings or a
combination of these items.
