Dear 7th Grade Parents and Guardians,

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our learning and

relationships with our 7th graders outside of the classroom, on an overnight
camping trip. However, just like with any other exciting
events in life comes great responsibilities. As we prepare
for our overnight camping trip, we would like to present
clear and detailed expectations. It is imperative that
students exemplify behavior, and scholarly practices both
at home and in school to earn a spot on this trip. Below is
a list of criteria for how students may earn a spot.

Criteria to Attend the 7th Grade Fall Camping Trip

• Earn no more than 2 homework detentions
• Earn no more than 2 behavioral detentions
• Attend all earned detentions (any skips will result in a student
jeopardizing their spot)
• Students may not earn any send outs
• Earn 40 merits

Details and Logistics around 7th Grade Camping Trip

When: October 12th (8:00 am)- October 13th (3:30 pm)
Where: Camp Letts; 4003 Camp Letts Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037
What: Students who earn a spot will attend a one night camping trip with the
7th grade team. Students will receive lodging, meals, and transportation. The
team will engage in a variety of team builders, educational and extracurricular
activities. In order to make this trip, and future ones possible, the cost of the trip
is $25 per student. In order to secure a spot, each student must submit $25 to
Ms. Coleman, by Monday October 2, 2017. *Students/ families will receive a
receipt upon payment.

*Permission slips with more logistics, details and a packing list will be issued as
the date approaches*

I acknowledge the terms and agreements listed in the “7th Grade
Overnight Camping, Parent Letter,” issued on September 14, 2017. I understand
that the criteria for my child to earn a spot on this trip is effective September 15,
2017 through October 12, 2017. If in the event my child is no longer eligible to
attend the trip, I understand that KIPP DC AIM Academy will refund me the full
amount of $25.
