Conference Assistant August 2015 – December 2016
- Collaborated with conference co-chairs and CARLA staff to plan and hold an international conference for
nearly 1,000 language immersion educators and researchers held in Minneapolis from October 19th –
October 22nd, 2016.
- Assisted the conference planning committee, contributing to decisions related to the mission of the
conference and the shared vision of immersion education across contexts.
- Facilitated a proposal review process for over 250 presentation proposals and 50 blind reviewers.
- Organized pre-conference school visits at 9 local immersion schools for 300 conference guests.
- Communicated daily with local principals, teachers, researchers and presenters involved with the
conference.

Department of Elementary Education


Supervisor to Undergraduate Practicum Students August 2015 – December 2016
- Observed, advised and evaluated over 60 undergraduate teacher candidates in their initial semester-long
practicum placement (in Kindergarten through sixth grade classes).
- Collaborated with university faculty to improve the assessment and reflection components of the practicum
experience.
- Provided written, personalized feedback to students’ journal reflections on a weekly basis.

Le Monde French Immersion Public Charter School Portland, Oregon
August 2012 – June 2014
Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
- Designed and wrote a full Kindergarten curriculum for a new and growing school.
- Designed and implemented appropriate educational activities that were fully in French, addressed
best practices in education, various learning styles and guided a class of 24 Kindergarten students to
meet Oregon State Standards for all subject areas.
- Designed, implemented and modeled Literacy Centers for self and colleagues yielding a 100%
IDAPEL (DIBELS) reading readiness pass rate for a class of 24 Kindergarten students.
- Collaborated weekly with fellow Kindergarten teacher to plan activities and create resources.
- Employed effective and researched classroom management strategies to manage a class of 24
Kindergarteners (Positive Discipline, Responsive Classroom, Love and Logic).
- Advocated for students in need of special education services.

- Served as a resident advisor and activity coordinator at a month-long French language immersion
camp. Responsible for close residential, academic and social-emotional supervision of female
adolescents aged 11-17. Organized and instructed daily, academy-wide activities for all students.
Collaborated daily with other residential advisors, teachers and supervisors to ensure the academic and
social well being of each student. Delegated responsibilities to fellow academy RAs.
