Y Mathematic is a wide known subject as the most important subject to be learnt by all
of us. Mathematic is widely use by us all in our daily life. Mathematics is use by human to
help them to go through their needs and works. We use mathematic in our chores like
buying and selling things, calculating our earnings and expenditures and many more.

While enlisted in this PGSR group, i had managed to relate mathematical areas like
operations and computation, data handling and interpretation, spatial sense and problem
solving to be use in Living Skill lesson. I encountered several problems while trying to relate
the mathematical area of numerical literacy.

First, on how to relate the operations and computations to Living skill subject. After
discussing with my colleague, I relate the numerical area with Year 5 Living Skill syllabus.
This is because, they can use the skill in calculating and managing their expenditure and
also keeping a written record of their earnings and expenditure. Mr. C.H. Ew also had gi ven
me some pointers in completing the tasks. Thanks to him, I managed to complete the task.

Data handling and interpretation are my second problem that I¶ve encountered. This
skill can be use for organizing sales (Living Skill year 6) and also arranging stocks. I had
learned on how to make interpretation base on charts, tables and graphics given. It had
given me a clearer perspective on how to combine the two skills when teaching Living Skill
at school.

As for Spatial Sense, it can be use when teaching Creativity and Creating things for
Year 4. This is because they can use 2D and 3D shapes when drawing it during their lesson.
They also can apply the skill when drawing orthographic and isometric drawings. For Year 6
students, this skill can be use when le arning on how to arrange their sales product in order
to attract customers.

As for the last skill, problem solving is the most widely use skills when learning
mathematic. Pupils had to think by themselves in order to solve the problems encountered
by them. They are also encouraged to make group discussion sessions when they
encountered some hard and difficult problems. I know understand how important it is to learn
and master all the mathematical skills in order to make my life easier and more comfortable.
 Learning with my friends had also exposed me to many fun and exciting ways to
learn mathematic. They had taught me how important mathematic is in our daily life. I had
opened my eyes as before, I found it hard to learn and master mathematic skills.
