ful as receiving high quality CPR - QCPR. Over the past ten years, a
substantial body of research has highlighted the value of high quality
CPR.

pre-shock pauses correlate with defibrillation success
(Edelson et al., 2006).

life and death.

Educational Services
Laerdal Educational Services offers training to help with your adoption of simulation
Courses and training opportunities are available for every skill level. Classes are designed to increase your ability
to effectively operate Laerdal simulators to teach and evaluate learning objectives. Courses are tiered for basic to
advanced users. For your convenience Courses (where applicable) are offered at a Laerdal site, at your facility.
For those who prefer a more tailored, one-on-one experience, Laerdal offers customised instruction to meet
your specific needs.
Introduction Courses – 2 Days

These two-day basic courses enable participants to assemble their simulator, operate the simulator's user interface, and
plan and programme scenarios using an instructional design process. Participants can attend a Laerdal facility where
applicable, or a Laerdal instructor will travel to your facility and teach up to 8 participants.

Teaching with Scenarios - 1 Day
An interactive session with focus on utilizing and prescribing pre-programmed scenarios to achieve targeted learner

and conducting facilitated debriefing.

Scenario Programming – 1 Day

This one day training course is designed for the advanced user who seeks skills in programming scenarios. Participants
will gain advanced knowledge and skills to map out a patient scenario, convert it into a scenario using the programming
software, and then run these scenarios.
Participants can attend a Laerdal facility where applicable, or a Laerdal instructor will travel to your facility and teach up
to 8 participants.

Customised Educational Services

For those who prefer one-to-one training, Laerdal offers a customised service to suit your individual needs.

An Educational Consultant will work with you at your facility to discuss and understand your specific Learning Objectives, and
then assist you to incorporate them into working scenarios applicable to your curricula requirements.

Technical Services
The performance of your products impacts your goals and objectives. Professionally trained, experienced Laerdal
Service Technicians can visit your site to deliver expert installation of your products, preventive maintenance and
trouble shooting to keep your program running. Expert maintenance and repair services are also provided at a
Laerdal Tech Centre near you.
Installation
A qualified Laerdal Service Technician will visit your site to put the ‘nuts and bolts’ together and get you up
and running quickly. This includes basic operator training at your facility.
Preventive Maintenance
Applicable to all our simulators and various other manikins and therapeutic products, a scheduled service with a
qualified Service Technician will ensure that your product maintains peak performance. Comprehensive function
testing, calibration and replacement of worn parts will ensure that your product continues to operate reliably, as
well as extend its working life. Preventive Maintenance is offered in two options:
Return to Laerdal – Your product will be thoroughly examined at a Laerdal Technical Centre including replacement
of some parts and components, including testing to ensure peak performance.
At the Customer Site – Our Field Service Technicians will visit your site deliver the same service as the Preventive
Maintenance Return to Laerdal, with the benefit of inspection and cleaning of compressors, monitors and cabling –
a full system check. Our Technician will also ensure your software is up-to-date and any new software releases
are installed.
Extended Warranty
Protect your investment and give yourself the peace of mind that support is there when you need it. Extended
Warranties are offered for a range of products and can be purchased in single-year increments up to a total of
4 additional years of coverage. Extended warranty extends the 12 month Manufacturer’s Warranty provided with
every Laerdal product.
Extended warranty includes:

• Manufacturers warranty coverage for an extended time period for Laerdal branded, designed
or produced products
• Return to Laerdal service only
• Materials, manufacturing or workmanship issues
• Cost of shipping to return the product from Laerdal to your facility
Loaner
Minimise downtime by ensuring you have the equipment needed for your program. A loner unit can be sent to
your facility and used while your unit is being serviced.
Not available for all products or in all countries. Contact your local Laerdal Representative for details.

The story of our logo
The Laerdal Company was established in 1940. During our first two
decades,we created innovative toys and books for children.
In 1958 , the company started to dedicate itself to advancing the cause

of resuscitation and emergency care. In 1960, the first patient
simulator Resusci Anne manikin was introduced to the market. A new
logo was needed to reflect our mission. Our founder, Åsmund S.
Laerdal, chose the image of the Good Samaritan. It depicts the ancient
tale of the traveller whose selfless compassion and care saved the life
of a total stranger. This became our emblem and our inspiration.
Today, Laerdal Medical is dedicated to helping save lives with products,

services, and system solutions that support the Chain of Survival.
The Good Samaritan logo symbolises our commitment to every health
professional and volunteer who has learned how to save the life of a
family member, friend, or stranger in need.
