Introduction
Thank you for the trust you place in us, and congratulations for choosing the RightWON system
from Vizimax! For your satisfaction and the success of your projects, RightWON system has
been designed and manufactured to the highest quality and performance standards in the
industry.

1.1. About the RightWON

The RightWON system is a modular solution for the remote management and remote control of
industrial equipment bases. It is compatible with a number of operating modes, and handles
everything from small applications with a mobile fleet and crew to the most elaborate central
management systems.
At the information source the RightWON system connects to industrial devices such as
programmable logic controllers (PLCs), intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), and discreet
input/output points (I/Os), saves the data and detects any abnormal operating conditions.
If an event occurs, the RightWON system transmits the pertinent information to users,
operators and/or management stations using all available communication methods (telephone
or mobile phone networks, serial access, Ethernet, etc.). All authorized users can also access
the RightWON’s integrated web-based interface from a remote location to acknowledge and
analyze the events, and execute corrective actions.

3.1.1. Opening the chassis

Warning: To avoid electrical shock and possible damage to the RightWON unit, ensure
that the power supply is shut OFF before you open the RightWON Engine chassis, if
required. The hard drive and memory must be installed and the COM port DIP switches
configured before connecting the system to the power supply.
Caution: Electrostatic discharges can damage RightWON Engine components. To
maximize equipment reliability, take all possible precautions to avoid electrostatic
discharges on the components. Always use an ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Devices) wrist
strap when accessing internal components of the RightWON, and attach the ESD wrist
strap to Ground.
To open the RightWON Engine chassis, carry out the following steps:
1- Turn off the power and remove the power cable.
2- Place the RightWON Engine on a flat surface, as in the following figure.

COM6.

3.1.3. Selecting the serial port interfaces

Serial ports COM1 to COM6 can be used in RS-232, RS-422 (4-wire) or RS-485 (2-wire) mode.
The configuration of each port is carried out using two sets of DIP switches:
 SW 3, 4, 7, 8, 16 and 17 determine the operating mode of each port (RS232, RS422 or
RS485)
 SW 2, 5, 6, 9, 11, 14 control the termination resistors for RS-422 and RS-485 networks.
When a COM port is configured in RS-232 mode, the terminations must always be
deactivated (OFF). They should be activated in RS-485/422 mode only when the
RightWON Engine is at the end of the network cable.
The following table indicates the settings for the two DIP switches on each port.

3.1.5. Installing the hard drive

The RightWON Engine can be installed with a 64GB or 128GB SATA Solid State Drive (SSD) hard
drive. This type of storage has no moving parts. To install it, carry out the following steps:
1- Open the chassis of the RightWON Engine if
you have not already done so.

2- Install the SSD disk inside the top panel and

align the holes with the mounting holes on the
cover.

3- Secure the hard drive with 4 screws starting

from the outside of the cover (use long
screws).

4- Connect the Serial-ATA cables and power

cable to the hard drive.

5- Connect the Serial-ATA cables (connector J1)

and power cable (connector J5) to the
connectors on the motherboard.

3.1.6. Closing the chassis

Once you have installed and configured the hardware in the RightWON Engine, carry out the
following steps to close the chassis:

1- Replace the side panel downward 2 3

and slide it toward the front of the
RightWON Engine chassis.
2- Screw the 3 screws into the
mounting holes on the front and
rear panels.
3- Screw the 4 screws into the
mounting holes on the top and
bottom panels. 3 2
4- Next, you can install the Compact
Flash card and connect the cables
and the power supply.

3.1.7. Installing the Compact Flash card

To install the 4GB Compact Flash (CF) card, carry out the following steps:
1- Unscrew the 2 screws from the Compact Flash card slot to remove the cover.
2- Position the CF card so that its cutout is facing up, and point the arrow on the card
toward the socket.
3- Insert the CF card into the socket.
4- Replace the cover and secure it with the 2 screws you removed in step 1-.
Note: The CF card is equipped with a polarizing slot, and cannot be inserted upside down.

3.2. Mounting the unit on a DIN rail

The unit can be panel mounted on a DIN rail. To snap the unit onto the rail, proceed as follows:
1- Tilt the top of the unit toward the front,
2- Slide the unit upward to catch it onto the lower lip of the rail and stretch the spring,
3- Tilt the top of the unit toward the rear, then lower it onto the rail to snap it on.

execution cycle in the manual “RWM000010-MA-en, RightWON Configuration Suite -
Manual”.
3- Connect online to the RightWON Engine, referring to the section Selecting an Ethernet
port in the manual “RWM000010-MA-en, RightWON Configuration Suite - Manual”. The IP
address you should use for configuration is the following:
a. For an initial installation, use the default IP address.
b. To update a project, use the current IP address of the RightWON Engine.
c. If the IP address for connecting to RightWON has been lost, you must clear the
configuration. Then you must reinstall a project using the default IP address.
Note: Verify the IP address in the customization file if you have one. Otherwise,
click on Network in the RightWON Configuration Suite, and double-click on
Links. Then click on Ethernet-x in the navigation area (make sure Eth-1
appears in the Adapter to use section of the work area). Configure the
RightWON with the IP address that appears in IP Local Address textbox. Make
sure to note the IP address for the current RightWON Engine configuration, not
the new configuration to be installed.
