Kant on Property:

Kant’s ethics: ethics comes out of people’s agency.

Value comes out of the choices of the agents, regarded as purpose-gifting or granting agents.
Rights are about the promotion of the autonomy of all agents through having the right maxims at the level of
the individual agents.
Universal Law of Right- act so as to recognize yourself and other as free.
Moral rights are rights that apply to people by virtue of their nature, while acquired rights apply to people
based on juridical acts.
Locke and Kant start from the same point: you start with the freedom of the person.

Freedom as internal autonomy: being able to be governed by your own maxim. For Kant, this comes out of our
rational, purposive nature.
