The global fuel cell industry has posted an unprecedented growth over the past
few years on the back of government active support. Governments across the
world have extended impressive funding for research and development of fuel
cells and amending their emission legislations that spur growth in the fuel cell
industry. For instance, governments in countries like the US, the UK, Germany,
Denmark and South Korea are intensively supporting fuel cell development in the
form of subsidies and by supporting R&D of the fuel cell technology.
According to our new research report “Fuel Cell Industry Analysis”, the global
fuel cell industry is expected to sustain its growth pace in near future driven by
various factors such as huge market potential, positive impact on the quality of
air, strengthening national energy security needs and reducing dependence on
oil. In this regard, we have done an extensive research and analysis of various
segments of the global fuel cell industry. Major segments by application covered
in the report include: Transport, Stationary and Portable.
The baseline for optimistic future outlook of the global fuel cell industry is the
rising demand for fuel cells in the automobile and telecom sector. Various
automotive companies are planning to launch FCV by the end of 2012 or 2013
which will also contribute to the tremendous growth of fuel cells. Apart from the
automobile sector, demand for fuel cells in the telecom sector will surge due to
increasing power requirements. As a result, the global fuel cell shipment is
expected to grow at a CAGR of around 68% during 2010-2012.
