Apples Rita Shotwell Ages: 4-8 years Directions: Chant the words and use the hand jive below each line. (Go over the hand jive first before practicing the words.) Apples, apples on a tree, {Four punches in mid air with right hand.] Sweet as sweet as they can be, [Four punches in mid air with left hand.] Reach up high and grab me some, {Roll arms one over the other four times.] We'll make a pie and have some fun! (Reach up with right hand, touch palm of left hand with right fingers, brush right hand up from left hand, stamp one foot.] Slice those apples nice and thick, [Four punches in mid air with right hand.] Hurry, hurry make it quick, [Four punches in mid air with left hand.] Sugar, cinnamon, and butter too, [Roll arms one over the other four times.] Mix them up and that will do. [Reach up with right hand, touch palm of left hand with right fingers, brush right hand up from left hand, stamp one foot.] Roll that dough nice and thin, [Four punches with right hand.] Then we'll put some apples in, [Four punches with left hand.] Bake that pie nice and slow [Roll arms one over the other four times.] Then we'll eat, get ready, GO!
