Monday Feb.

Objectives:
● Students will create a written response to a Blast from StudySync reflecting on
their thoughts over Black History Month
● Students will be creating a journal entry in the voice of a character from the novel
in an assignment worth 20 points
● Students will complete an assignment creating a text message conversation
between two characters
Procedures:
● The teacher will bring up the Blast on StudySync and have students participate
● The teacher will pass out the ​Stormbreaker​ novel to the students
● The teacher will pass out both the journal and text message activity
● The teacher will explain the text message and journal activities and have
students work on them until the bell rings
Modifications:
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the worksheets directions
● Providing the page numbers for where students can find supplement to their
answers
Assessments:
● Formative- Students will be working on a blast found on StudySync over Black
History Month
● Summative- Students will complete two extended assignments worth 20 points
each

Tuesday Feb 13
Objectives:
● Students will read and comprehend chapters 14 and 15 of ​Stormbreaker​ while
having it read aloud to them as a class.
● Students will demonstrate understanding of the text in a series of comprehension
questions in their “Spy Packet”.
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass out the ​Stormbreaker​ novel to the students
● The teacher will pass out the “Spy Packet” to the students
● The teacher will then play the audio reading of ​Stormbreaker ​for chapters 14, 15
● The teacher will then allow students to work on their “Spy Packet”
Modifications:
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the questions located in the “Spy Packet”
● Providing the page numbers for where the vocab words are found in the novel
Assessments:
● Formative- Students will be working in their “Spy Packet” to assess their learning
and understanding through comprehension questions, application, and
vocabulary work
● Summative- Students will complete the assignments involving the text message
conversation and the journal for a total of 20 points each

Wednesday Feb., 14
Objectives:
● Students will read and comprehend chapters 16 and 17 of ​Stormbreaker​ while
having it read aloud to them as a class.
● Students will demonstrate understanding of the text in an AR test worth
completion points
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass out the ​Stormbreaker​ novel to the students
● The teacher will then play the audio reading of ​Stormbreaker ​for chapters 16, 17
● The teacher will then have students take the AR test for ​Stormbreaker
● The teacher will pass out the “Spy Packet” to the students
● The teacher will then allow students who complete the AR test to continue their
work in their “Spy Packet”
Modifications:
● Having the novel read aloud to the classes instead of reading it on their own
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the questions located in the “Spy Packet”
● Reading aloud the questions in the AR test for those who need it
Assessments:
● Formative- Students will be working in their “Spy Packet” to assess their learning
and understanding through comprehension questions, application, and
vocabulary work
● Summative: Students will complete an AR test based on the novel,
Stormbreaker​, that students have been reading throughout the unit

Thursday Feb 15
Objectives:
● Students will create a Gazette news article based around the novel for a total of
20 points
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass out the ​Stormbreaker​ novel to the students
● The teacher will pass out the gazette activity and explain the directions
● The teacher will allow students to work on the activity and leftover questions from
the packet for the rest of the period
Modifications:
● Teacher will read aloud the directions to the gazette activity
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the questions located in the “Spy Packet”
Assessments:
● Formative- Students will be working in their “Spy Packet” to assess their learning
and understanding through comprehension questions, application, and
vocabulary work
● Summative- Students will complete a gazette activity for 20 points

Friday Feb 16
Objectives:
● Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the novel by showing the
differences between the movie version and the novel
Procedures:
● The teacher will re-introduce the t-chart of the differences between the book and
the movie
● The teacher will then play the movie (up to the point where the students are in
the book)
● Students will be listing the differences between the book and the movie as they
watch
Modifications:
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● The teacher will read aloud the worksheet citing the differences between the
book and the movie
Assessments:
● Students will complete the t-chart for a formative assessment of their
understanding of the novel
