Staff Spotlight for February
Mr. Holmes – 3rd Grade

Hometown: Kings Mountain, North Carolina

Favorite type of food: Steak

Favorite sport/team to watch on TV: Football

Where you went to college: University of North Carolina at Charlotte (class of ‘84)

Why did you become a teacher? It has always felt like that was what I was supposed to be.

City you want to visit the most: London, England - Actually to go back there, I visited in 1989

Favorite thing to do outside of school: Watch the Carolina Panthers

Most rewarding part of being a teacher: I once had a student in 5th grade who had never
passed the EOG in Reading. She passed it that year with me, and the look on her face when I
told her the good news, there is nothing like it!

Silliest fact about you: I have four kids, and I never get their names right!
