TECHNOLOGY
We hold numerous US and foreign patents related to several
advanced core technologies, and in particular those associated
with Pulse Electro-Thermal De-Icing, known as PETD, and others.
PETD is a highly elegant, yet simple process using high power to
instantly break one of the strongest bonds in nature – that
between ice and an interfacing surface. It is a counter-intuitive
and disruptive new application that offers significant benefits to
both consumers and manufacturers: dramatic energy savings,
improved safety and convenience, greater reliability and
reduced maintenance.
WIND POWER & ICECODE™
Even relatively tiny amounts of ice forming on wind blades will offset
the balance, forcing turbine shutdown in order to prevent damage (or
worse, damage has already occurred). Eight of the top ten states for
wind power capacity have a winter temperature average at or below
freezing, while the others - California and Texas - suffered from multiple
ice storms in the past five to ten years (NOAA).
Shutdown means lost power and lost revenue. Before restart, a physical
inspection results in more idle downtime. Damage, of course, means
costly repair and even more downtime.
