Good afternoon teachers!

My full name is Nguyen Phan Bao Ngoc. I am in grade 8 at Thi Tran 2 Secondary
school. Today, I am very happy to be here and introduce to everybody the topic: 'How will
we use English in the future?'.

There is no doubt that more and more people learn English nowadays. As we know,
English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world; so it figures that having a
good knowledge of the English can really open up doors to your future. That’s also one of
the main reasons I want to learn this language because English can help me have a good
job in the future. Let me explain:

First of all, English is very necessary for our future jobs. We all know that, many jobs
require applicants to prepare their personal files such as the application form written in
English. Moreover, in the job interview, we have to answer lots of questions in English.
Therefore, it will be easier for us to get the job if we can speak English fluently. In addition,
with good English, we may have more chances to work for foreign companies or we can be
sent abroad for further training in the near future. You know, I want to be not only a normal
doctor but also a good one some day so as to help the poor cure from the sickness. Then I
want to apply for a scholarship to study abroad so as to improve my medical knowledge. So
I will try to study to make my dream come true by being good at English.

Secondly, we can improve our knowledge so much if we are good at English. In fact,
many professional or reference books of different fields written in English such as science,
technology, medicines. How can we read and understand them if we don't know this
language? Moreover,many websites are written in English, too. We can take advantages of
these websites to get more information in order to improve our knowledge.

Last but not least, English will be able to help us entertain ourselves a lot. If we have
a good command of English, we can completely enjoy an English-spoken movies without
the help of the subtitles and we can also listen to many songs sung by famous singers
around the world. And if I am good at this language, I will be able to read the news or
watch TV in English without stumbling over what is being said. It means that I can easily

understand what’s going on in the world, be more knowledgeable about the world, and be
more confident even in speaking English with foreigners. In addition, we can travel to lots of
countries without the difficulties in communication then have a chance to understand
different cultures from different countries. Besides, there are many other ways of
entertainment that we can get if we are good at English.

In short, a lot of good opportunities are available for us once we have acquired fairly
good English. It can't be denied that English is an international language nowadays. So,
trying to improve English to integrate into the modern world is the way I use this useful
and interesting language in my future.
