Ruth Miskin is one of the UK’s leading authorities
on teaching children to read. She has had many
years experience as a teacher, headteacher, teacher-trainer and
consultant in synthetic phonics, working with primary and secondary
schools throughout the UK and with children from all backgrounds.
Over the last ten years, all her time has been devoted to
developing Read Write Inc. Her belief that every child can, and must,
learn to read is at the heart of this programme.
l Improves the teaching and learning ethos across the whole school
‘‘I know they love it, they actually love the programme. It
doesn’t just help with Literacy because you can go away and
you take this knowledge and apply it. You see it working in
history and even maths. It’s giving them a whole approach,
it addresses problems they have throughout the whole
curriculum; it isn’t just literacy, it’s everything they do.’’
