STATEMENT # 1

A petrochemical company has given you an oil sample to be tested. They found the sample in a 10 L drum
in their store without any labels, hence they need to confirm the type of oil in the drum; either diesel,
gasoline, kerosene, synthetic or semi-synthetic lubricant oil. You have to perform any reliable tests that
available in Lab 27. You are required to analyze the results so that you can prepare a technical report and
submit to your Lab Manager. Your technical report must follow a standard published journal form,
included with limitations that you and other members discovered, along with suggestions for
improvement.

STATEMENT #2

En Kamal, a chemical engineer hires you and your team to perform analyses on an oil sample. The flash
point of the oil sample is -10°F, but he found that other results are not reliable hence he needs another
analysis other than the flash point to confirm the type of oil. You and your team should provide the
technical report within 2 weeks. The technical report must follow a standard published journal form,
included with limitations that you and other members discovered, along with suggestions for
improvement.
