Study Plan for Masters

Full Name: SHAKEEL AHMED

An enormous number of challenges, thrown out by rapid development in science and technology,
have made me choose engineering profession. I take this opportunity to describe my educational
background and career objectives that first motivated me to do Bachelor in Petroleum and
Natural Gas Engineering and now to pursue Master program in Department of Chemical
Engineering from world renowned institute under the supervision of world’s best researchers
and supervisors.

I have a very good educational background. I have done my matriculation and intermediate
from well-known school of Pakistan. With continuing my efforts of hard work in studies leads
me to get an admission in renowned China University of Petroleum-Beijing China.

The comprehensive curriculum in university enables me to acquire strong theoretical as well as

practical and application-oriented knowledge of the subjects plus in extracurricular activities.
With that I proved to be one of the best students of the University. In my Bachelors study of
Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, I aimed to develop a strong technical background. So I
put my extra focus on the courses that included practical work mainly project basis. This made
me enables to develop an ability to think beyond concept in books. I am very extra ordinary
student in lab works and projects. I have worked on many projects in groups as well as
individual.

I have completed and successfully defended my final year project and thesis on the “
Simulation of Low Salinity waterflooding in oil reservoirs using Black oil
Simulator(Reveal)” in Mehran UET Jamshoro Pakistan.

By fact, I am socially active person with friendly nature, a good communicator indeed who is
blessed with many friends. I keep a keen view to the reality of life thus approach people with
positive mind and attitude and always prove to be helpful with honest efforts and true dedication.
Besides that I always feel very joyous and fortunate to meet and greet people belonging to
different backgrounds and cultures. As such meetings are always important because they prove
to be beneficial in future also it makes things easy to cope whether one works or studies in his
own country or outside the country. The rapid developments and achievements in science and
technology have made me to take more interest and motivated me to pursue a career in this

Field as I read literature on a variety of scientific and technological machines and their roles. In
the final year of my Bachelor in Petroleum Engineering, my project and thesis were based on
“Mechanics of Oil and Gas Flow in Porous Media”. Because of my core interest in the field of
science and technology, I am motivated to pursue my Master’s Degree in “Department of
Chemical Engineering”. I am particularly keen to study at the College of Chemical
Engineering because of your research interests and your reputation of excellence in these fields.
The international reputation of the department attracts such a variety of students and I believe it

provides excellent working and recreation facilities for graduate students’ which demonstrate
your commitment to the graduate student body. Now I am very enthusiastic and eager to do my
Maters Program in “Department of Chemical Engineering” China University of Petroleum
under the supervision of world’s best supervisors. And I am very positive that the school can
provide me this opportunity. My motivation for applying to this program is very high. It would
be helpful to both my personal life and professional life. I was self-motivated and convinced to

Reasons to study in China:

Now the question arises, “Why China?”” Reading the books, watching the news, analyzing and
observing the people of China, as I lived here for four years, I am really impressed by the way these
individuals have proved themselves to be dedicated to their work and with true efforts they have set
China as a successful example for other third world or developed countries. The fast0 growing
economy, technological advancement and the global ranking education institutes of China with high
reputation makes a great aspiration to the students and professionals for the better career
perspectives. Thus such kind of positivity has boosted my confidence further and I am highly
satisfied with the decision I have taken. Moreover, China’s diverse cultural norms and values, the
famous gentle hospitality of its people and Pakistan-China all weather friendly relations since past to
promote bilateral trade , acceptance and peace to both sides in great clarity make me feel China as
my second homeland; also my family fully supports
my choice for China being my preference for graduate studies. All these reasons put
together make China an ideal place for me to do my Master’s degree.

Concluding it, It’s my wish to pursue dedicated effort towards furthering this goal as part of my
graduate studies also I will develop strong technical skills that would remain with me for lifetime
and help me out in gained experience and knowledge. Keeping this in mind, joining your
University seems to me as an excellent first step. With high hopes I believe this application will
receive your favorable consideration and I will be happy to provide any additional information
