STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

The strategic management is a process which offer direction, give a plan and
process for the vision of an organization. It also lines up the importance of the steps
an organization must take to grow, and examines an organization's values, status,
and environment.

The importance of a strategic management in nowadays business environment is a

matter that can’t be overlooked because it almost ensures that the company stays
permanently on the right way which leads to the achievement of its long term goals
and objectives. If the organization were in a static environment in which no change
was necessary, there would be no need for strategic planning. But, our environment
is changing economically, technologically and culturally, so the strategic
management is necessary for adapting to those changes and creating an
organization's future within the context of change. In this sense, strategic
management is also a process for organizational renewal and transformation.

There are three principal stages in the strategic management process, the planning
of the strategy, the implementation of the strategy and the evaluation and control of
the strategy. The primary component, the planning, include internal and external
environment scanning, in order to determinate the opportunities, limitations, strengths,
and weaknesses of the organization. The second phase, implementation, involve
putting the strategies into action trough the objectives that the organization has
defined previously. The third stage, evaluation and control, evaluate the current status
of the organization and measure how the goals are being achieved. In this stage the
possible problems and mistakes are corrected as well.

As a summary it’s correct to say that the strategic management is an ongoing process
that evaluates and controls the organization and the industries in which the company
is involved, sets goals and strategies in order to achieve their objectives. Also the
strategic management allow to determinate how the strategies has been
implemented and whether it has succeeded or needs replacement by a new strategy,
new technology, new economic or a new environment.
