1. Six Sigma is an enterprise wide quality improvement tool - with customer view in focus. It
evolved from Motorola in the early 80s to become a full fledged, widely practiced formal
system of bringing in total quality management into an enterprise. Both manufacturing, as
well as, services organizations are today using this technique.

Human resources department performs several services for both internal and external
customers. Prospective hires are external customers, while existing employees are internal
customers - to whom a promised level of service must be supplied, at given time, of certain
quality. Hires come in all levels - from unskilled to highly skilled ones. In such an
environment the type of services and level of services can be varied. The processes associated
with each of these services to be delivered too can be varied. Identify any six areas in the
HRM practices followed in your industry (the industry in which you are working) where
Six sigma can be implemented.

2. Study the changing role of HR Manager by reviewing HR practices in any of the top 10
Publicly Listed (you can take companies of your choice in your industry) pharmaceutical
companies in India by Market Capitalization. Present your findings in the form of a report not
exceeding 1200 words.

3. ‘Great Place to Work’ study 2016, ranks the below three organization as leaders, in the
Healthcare space (you can take companies of your choice in your industry).
