Objectives:
● Students will comprehend the differences between the Film and Movie version of
Stormbreaker
● Students will demonstrate understanding of the text in a series of comprehension
questions in their “Spy Packet”
● Students will infer the meaning of certain vocab words found in the text inside
their “Spy Packet”.
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass back students’ ​Stormbreaker​ “Spy Packets”
● The teacher will play the movie while students finish the packets in anticipation of
turning them in this day
Modifications:
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the worksheets directions
● Providing the page numbers for where students can find supplement to their
answers
Assessments:
● Summative- Students will complete their “Spy Packet” and turn it in

Tuesday Feb. 27
Objectives:
● Students will compare and contrast a selected section of ​Stormbreaker​ with its
movie version in a writing assignment
● Students will comprehend the differences that different mediums create when
translating a work
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass out the ​Stormbreaker​ novel to the students
● The teacher will then reread the selected section of the novel with the students
● The teacher will then play the movie version of the selected section
● The teacher will then ask students to write about the comparisons between the
two different versions
Modifications:
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the section of the novel
● Using the movie as a visual aid
Assessments:
● Summative- Students will complete a writing assignment comparing the selected
section of the novel and its movie counterpart

Wednesday Feb., 14
Objectives:
● Students will read and comprehend a NewsELA article detailing the life of a real
MI6 Agent
● Students will compare and contrast the reading of the real agent to the fictional
life of Alex Rider in ​Stormbreaker
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass out the ​Stormbreaker​ novel to the students
● The teacher will then pass out the NewsELA article
● The teacher will then read the NewsELA article aloud with students
● The teacher will then give the directions on comparing the two lives of the spies
● The teacher will introduce the short essay and have students begin to outline for
the rest of the class
Modifications:
● Having the NewsELA article read aloud
● Co-teachers moving about the room helping students to get the assignments
understood and performed properly
● Reading aloud the directions for the essay and its prompt
● Using a guided outline for struggling readers and writers
Assessments:
● Formative- Students will be working on an outline in preparation for an essay on
Thursday and Friday

Thursday Feb 15
Objectives:
● Students will analyze the differences between the life of a real MI6 Agent and the
life of Alex Rider from ​Stormbreaker
● Students will utilize their outline to create a short essay based on their outline
Procedures:
● The teacher will pass students outlines back to them
● The teacher will pass out the NewsELA article back to students
● The teacher will pass back the ​Stormbreaker​ novel
● The teacher will then re-explain the essay its prompt
● The teacher will then have students begin working on their essay on their
ChromeBooks
● The teacher will move about the room as students need them
Modifications:
● Teacher will read aloud the for the essay and its prompt
● Co-teachers will move about the room to help students
● Guided outlines will be provided to help students organize information
Assessments:
● Formative- Students will be working with their outlines to help organize
information for their essay
● Summative- Students will analyze the differences between the life of an MI6
agent in a NewsELA article with the life of Alex Rider in​ Stormbreaker​ in an essay

Friday Feb 16
