The order of intensive decontamination is

@
described in the Care & Maintenance S5 Y3
manual. The internal procedure in the water Wv 10
Wv 2
container is briefly described here.

If the water level in tank ” drops due to Y1

water consumption, then the following Y5
actions are taken:
A17.V
A10.V
Y2
Float switch S2 is actuated (LED S2 lights Y4
up).

Solenoid valve Y 2 opens. Pressure is exerted

on the membrane of reservoir # (LED Y 2 S9 A W

Solenoid valve Y 4 opens the water passage
(LED Y 4 lights up).
Solenoid valve Y 5 opens for approx. 2.5 s S8

Y4
Solenoid valve Y 1 opens and allows air to
flow in and put the water in the mixing con-
tainer under pressure (LED Y 1 lights up).
Solenoid valve Y 2 closes and releases the S9 A W
pressure on the reservoir membrane slowly
to prevent an abrupt drop in water pressure.

Check valve Wv 8 opens.

Only a certain amount of tumbler water can Wv 8 #
be withdrawn during the filling phase.
When LED S 8 DW (red) lights up, the 43

Once the service tester is plugged it in dis-

plays, for example, test level 8.

D 3.4 Settings for PIEZOlux LUX

Testing

0.710.4241
L1
It is important to observe the following
points while testing:
+ -
• A requirement for correct measurement is a C5
functional handpiece:
Point: (form: sickle) test for state X1
Test handpiece for integrity V3
Union nut joining hose to handpiece must R20 R22
be tight
D

0411 8871
1
• Measuring lead, Mat. no. 0.411.8871

• Set measuring device to measurement zone

DC 30 V and check the maximum supply
voltage of 18 – 23 V on the capacitor C 5.
Set ZEG operation to maximum intensity.

• Withdraw plug link X1 from the PIEZOlux

electronics and plug in the measuring lead
and set the measuring device to the meas-
urement zone DC 1A. Set ZEG operation to
maximum intensity and check current. The
maximum target value is 315+15 mA.

Should all the above points have been con-

sidered and the values measured agree with
the stated values but the functioning of the
M
handpiece is inadequate, then the handpiece
(or the transformer) must be replaced. T
The test of function should then be repeated
as described.

Should neither the values measured nor the

function be correct, then the electronics
must be set as described in the following:

17
KaVo 1058
Setting

Connect handpiece with point (form: sickle).

0.710.4241
L1
Connect measuring device to the C 5 capacitor
(measurement zone DC 30 V).

Withdraw plug link from plug X1 and con- C5

nect the measuring lead. Connect the meas-
uring device (measurement zone DC 1A). X1
V3
Trimming capacitor R 22 set to centre posi- R20 R22
tion.

1
Set ZEG operation to maximum intensity
and set the supply voltage on the C 5 using
the trimming capacitor R 20 to 20 V.

If only one measuring device is avail-

able, the X 1 plug link must be con-
nected during the voltage measurement.

Screw the adjustment cone fully into the

spool L1.

The adjustment cone is extremely sen-

sitive to pressure or over-tightening.

Set ZEG operation to maximum intensity and

by screwing out the adjustment cone set the
current to a maximum of 325 mA. M
If this value is not achieved the supply volt-
age on the trimming capacitor R 20 must be T
adjusted.

Set ZEG operation to maximum intensity.

Turn back the trimming capacitor R 22 for
current limitation until the current falls to a
residual value of approx. 320+15 mA.

Set the current on the trimming capacitor

R 20 to a maximum of 315+15 mA.

The oscillation in the lower intensity zone

cannot be adjusted and does not begin until
approximately 100-150 mA (set the foot keys
on the multi-foot control element to the centre).

Should the output be wrong despite a

functional handpiece and correctly car-
ried out settings, then the electronics must be
replaced.
