Explain how to implement the IWE in that particular company

Human resources management of Starbucks should implement few ways of Islamic Work
Ethics in the organization for a successful working environment. Human resource manager
must implement quality of work in the working environment by making the employees
discipline and commit them in essence of work which they will be have a link with work and
faith that motivate employees in economically and politically viable entity. For example,
Human resources manager in Starbucks must arrange a proper environment such as place to
keep their bags, place for them to have lunch like privacy and soon
Next, the human resources manager should implement Islamic work ethics in giving wages
to the employees in Starbucks which must be fair and prompt in compensating workers. Human
resources manager in Starbucks must follow the words in Al-Quran ‘‘one must give a worker
his wage before his sweat dries (should be on time)’’ and ‘‘your wage should be based on
your effort and spending’ ’so, the manager must pay the wages timely, adequate, and fair to
the employees. For example, Human resources manager must pay wages on time such as
when manager promise to pay on 25th, the wages must be pay on 25th cause it’s based on the
effort from employees.

Furthermore, Human resources manager of Starbucks must have a good deeds and
intentions in performing their work and managing the employees. These are constitute
significant pillars in the Islamic Work Ethics which they have clearly differentiate the Islamic
Work Ethics from the work ethics of other faiths. One important of the fundamental
assumptions in Islam is that good intention rather than result is the criterion upon which work
is evaluated in terms of benefit to community and society. Activities that conduct by human
resources manager and bring harm to employees is consider a sin, even though it outcomes of
wealth to who undertake it but it’s a considered unlawful. Prophet Mohamed stated, ‘‘God
does not look at your matters [shapes or forms] and wealth, rather God examines your
intentions and actions’’. Human resources manager must have a good intention and deeds in
order to benefits the employees from their duties.

Human resources manager in Starbucks must be transparency when they doing their job
because business and work in generally have to be ethical and have moral foundations. As a
wording in Al Quran says that a story about report that Prophet Mohamed once inspected a
bin for dates and found that those that were not good were hidden underneath the fresh dates.
This story explains that we must be transparency whenever we work or doing a job. For
example, the human resources manager need to be transparency when giving salary to the
workers by explaining them about the pay and benefits that employee will gain from working
Starbucks.

Human resources manager of Starbucks should not be greed because it’s an unethical ways
in working environment. In Islam, greed is considering a threat to social and economic justice
that brings a bad impact to everyone surrounding by them. In Al-Quran that says “the Prophet
Mohamed in his struggle against the elite of Mecca consistently and tirelessly criticized their
greediness”. He stated, ‘‘be aware of greediness; it is the living poverty’’ and ‘‘two qualities
are not found in a believer: greediness and immorality’ ’For example, Human Resources
Manager should not be greed in giving promotion or blocking the gift of employees who
deserves it such as promotion as assistant manager or increasing in salary.
