Hunting Hills QSA Questionnaire Conclusions

Background Info

● Two groups were surveyed at Hunting Hills High School


● Students attending QSA meetings and students from a Science 10 Advanced class
● 11 students from the QSA participated
● 11 student who do not attend the QSA participated
● We cannot assume that all students who do not attend the QSA meetings are not part of
the LGBTQ+ community - they may not part of the LGBTQ+ community but not involved

Results

1. 10/11 students in the QSA strongly agree that students should be introduced to LGBTQ+
issues at an earlier age, where only 4 students not in QSA agree or strongly agree. 2
students outside of the QSA disagreed with the statement that students should be
introduced to LGBTQ+ issues earlier.
2. All QSA students believe it is necessary for schools to have gender neutral/all bodies
washrooms. 4 students outside the QSA agreed, 2 disagreed, and the rest were neutral.
3. An equal number of students in the QSA and out of the QSA responded with neutral or
agree for the statement, “teachers need more education on LGBTQ+ issues”.
4. 10/11 students in the QSA wish more teachers were involved in the QSA, the 11th was
neutral. 7/11 students outside of the QSA agree that teachers should be more involved,
1 disagreed, the rest were neutral.
5. 8/11 students in the QSA and 8/11 students outside the QSA agree that LGBTQ+
students are welcome at Hunting Hills.
6. The QSA has improved the school experience of all students who utilize it, and even one
student that does not.
