WORK EXPERIENCE

Electrical Engineer at São Paulo Engenharia April 2017-Present

 Responsible for accompanying the construction of an Air Traffic Control Tower, as well as its 750kVA
Step Down Substation at the Airport of Sorocaba - SP, Brazil. This work has been executed together with
professionals of the Brazilian Air force, and it also follows strict international standards (FAA).
 Supervising and Coordinating the complete execution of 750kVA Step Down Substation (23.1kV/380V):
o 23.1kV Primary Cabin (Metering and Transforming Unit)
 23.1 Modular Switchboard (metering and protection)
 Two Three-Phase 300 kVA 23.1kV/380V Dry Transformers
o Backup Unit
 Two Three-Phase 550kVA 380V Generators
o Uninterruptable Power Supply
 Two 60kVA 380V No breaks to feed the most essential loads in the airport
o Accompanying the installation of Constant Current Regulators (CCR’s)
o Installing Electric Panels and Switchboards at both Substation and Air Traffic Control Tower
o Accompanying the execution of low voltage electrical installation of buildings (Substation and Air
Traffic Control Tower
o Supervising the complete installation of the Airport communication system (Fiber-Optics, DIOs,
Patch Panels, and other communication devices)
 In Parallel, being responsible for the execution of electrical installation of buildings in a 144-Apartment
construction, as well as designing the project photovoltaic power plants.

Internship at Electric Drives, Automation and Control Laboratory, IFPB June-October 2016
 Such work was part of a bilateral cooperation between the Federal Institute of Technology of Paraíba and
WEG Industries.
 Carrying out the final project required to conclude the degree of Electrical Engineering at IFPB. Such
project objectives to provide a review about the wind power sector in Brazil in present days. In addition, it
also includes presenting and simulating in Matlab® script the dynamic model (dq0) of permanent magnet
synchronous machine. Simulation and experimental results were collected.

Student work experience at WEG Australia Pty Ltd February 2016

 Analysis and specification of induction motors fed by Variable Frequency Drives.
 Researching out root cause failure analysis of electric motors.
 Studying out equipment catalogues.
 Performed two site visits at a company`s client aiming to analyse the installation of two 1MW motors fed
by a WEG variable frequency drive.
 Received a recommendation letter at the end of the work experience because of work performance
provided to the company.

Internship at SpringCity Engineering, Power and Strategy December/2015-January/2016

 Australian company located in Perth – WA.
 Supported the Engineering team for performing out an Arch Flash Mitigation Strategies through the
technical requirements from IEEE 1584 standard.
 Assisted the engineering team to solve problems in relation to cost-effective analysis to select both power
equipment and personal protection equipment (PPE)
 Developed power system models and protection devices grading in Power Tools for Windows (PTW) by
consulting technical guides, and the experienced co-workers to achieve power flow analysis and short-
circuit analysis, as well as selecting suitable equipment.
 Received a recommendation letter at the end of the internship.

Undergraduate Student Researcher at Brazilian National Council of Scientific and Technological

Development 2011-2014
 Assisted to develop a low cost single-phase power generations system connected to the grid that
contributed to reduce the price of U$/kW of the system. Such research had a publication in the IEEE IAS
annual meeting in 2013. The tittle of the article was “Low cost single-phase grid-tie generator”

WON AWARDS

Employability Award – Curtin University 2016

Such award was provided after two modules:
 Performing out online modules about behaviour at work, professional career prospection analysis, and how
to synthetise and write a proper resume.
 Carrying out a professional experience at course-related area during a significant time. After that
experience analyse the company`s feedback about the performed work
 Further information may be find out in: http://life.curtin.edu.au/careers/employability-award.htm
Science Without Borders Scholarship – Brazilian Ministry of Education 2014
Such scholarship aimed to benefit students of key technological sectors with the opportunity of carrying out a study
abroad programme in the selected country and institution chosen by the student. The selection was merit based, and
was necessary to have a strong academic background, as well as language proficiency. It was included an English
academic course, one year of study in a related-degree at the chosen university, and an internship in a related-
course company.
WEG Technological Innovation Award, Undergraduate Category 2012
Award provided to a work regarding wind power generation system, where all Brazilian Universities were allowed
to participate. The work contribution was proposing a new topology to single-phase power generation systems
connected to the grid. Such topology used a three-phase induction generator as a single-phase generator by using
the Steinmetz connection to minimise the voltages unbalance. In addition, the three-leg inverter topology used
permitted the connection of the generator to the power grid. As a final result, the cost of the system had fallen by
half price per generated kW.
