decision-making skills in the nutrition setting. As well as the passion I have for helping people
and my nutrition knowledge.

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE:

 East Georgia Regional Medical Center:
- Gained important clinical experience which included: nutrition support (tube feedings
& TPN), utilizing ADIME format & NCP reports, conducting one-on-one nutrition
assessments based on medical diagnoses/conditions, follow-ups with patients,
diabetes & coumadin education, attending staff meetings, etc.
Was also able to observe the bariatric dietitian in an education/counseling session
with a client.
 4 & 20 Bakers
- Assisted in developing new menus for the owner’s new restaurant startup. Helped
cater a wedding and develop new recipes to serve at the new restaurant.
 St. Joseph’s Hospital: Food Service
- Worked under clinical/food service manager which yielded many experiences.
Performed iRounds to assess food service quality, evaluated tray quality at random,
took orders and served patients, helped prepare food/participate in tray assembly,
helped reformat menus to better fit the needs of the hospital, etc.
 Georgia Southern Athletics
- Worked closely with college athletes (mostly football players) and provided one-on-
one nutrition counseling based on the need to lose or gain weight, gain muscle, or
lose fat. Developed a nutrition education presentation on the specific nutrition needs
of Track & Field athletes (specifically women) based on the event they participated
in.
 Burke County Public Schools & Head Start
- Assisted at farmer’s market, helped observe classrooms during mealtime, developed
standardized recipes, assisted with milk forms, etc. Was also able to use the
packaging machine to package individual fruit cups.
 Georgia Southern University Eagle Dining
- Developed educational presentation for staff on the importance of serving proper
portion sizes to students in the dining halls. Helped choose recipes and make
suggestions for a Heart Healthy Valentine’s Day dinner event.
 Riverview Health & Rehab Center – Long-Term Care
- Provided individualized nutrition recommendations and prescriptions using ADIME
format and NCP reports. Focused on the geriatric population. Attended staff meetings.
 Georgia Southern University Health Services
- Assisted in health promotion activities such as wellness events/fairs. Provided one-
on-one nutrition consultations based on individual goals and readiness level. Utilized
motivational-interviewing skills and assessed stage of change.
 Memorial Health University Bariatrics
- Conducted one-on-one nutrition counseling based on individual goals as well as
pertaining to pre-surgery qualification. Provided education to patients about bariatric
surgery diet guidelines.
 Emanuel County Family Connection
- Worked closely with the family coordinator in planning nutrition educations for
recent mothers with a focus on healthier on-the-go options and ways to sneak
vegetables into kids’ food.
 UGA Cooperative Extension & 4H:
- Developed, implemented, and evaluated a nutrition education presentation to senior
citizens. Created educational handout on sleep + diet for employee wellness. Assisted
in other community outreach projects.

annual Call On Congress in March 2017 and tell my personal story to stress the
importance of government funding and further advancements in cancer
research, as well as continually spreading cancer awareness.
