setting, plot, and your personal response)
UfKg/edit), use the book that you read to the book review organizer. Make
sure that the information you writing down is from your book. Do not copy
the information from the example being shown. Be sure to write in
complete sentences when completing the plot and my response sections.
B. When you have completed your organizer, raise your hand and Mr. Mills
or Mrs. Bright will review your organizer with you to ensure that it has
been completed correctly. You will either be given the go ahead to log into
your Canva account; or you will be given pointers on how to improve your
organizer. If you need to watch the Canva tutorial video again, please let
one of us know.
C. Using your organizer and the rubric, create your infographic. Be sure to

Report of Your Findings

The students were very interested in creating their Canva infographic. Having
students to complete the book review organizer before going online prove to be
beneficial. The students did not have to struggle with what to write and how to create
their graphic at the same time. However due to the student population (student’s with
exceptional needs), we anticipated some delays. With that being said, some students
needed extra assistance with navigating the Canva site. Also, some of the students took
an extended amount of time choosing a template and graphics. Most of the students did
perform as expected. They worked hard and completed the assessment. One way to
improve the assessment is to allow the students more practice with the site prior to the
test. Students could work with the site as part of an assignment. Another way to
improve the assessment is to let students choose their template early like the day
before.

Future Instructional Plans

Working with my client was a great experience. After completing the assessment
and reviewing the data, we discussed the process and the outcomes. My client and I
concluded that some of the students could have benefited from additional instruction
while completing the book review organizer. The one student who did not perform well
had a lot of missing content in the plot and student review section. We also noticed that
some of the students struggled with grammar and sentence structure. Therefore, the
students could use additional online support through the use of sites like
http://englishmedialab.com/grammar.html and
http://www.englishmaven.org/Pages/Sentence%20Completion.htm. We also discussed
ways for students to practice citing evidence. I suggested a couple of exercises
including this site http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/lesson-
plans/prove-citation-scavenger-hunt-30899.html?tab=4.
