PROPOSAL
FOR
THE SURVEY-DESIGN WORKS

1) Background :
The Concept Design of the project has been prepared. On base of the design the
structural alternative has also been approved by The Authorityes:
1.1 Type of interchange : Non-fully-constituted interchange.
1.2 Technical characteristics
a) Flyover (Level +1):
 The straight direction from Russian parkway to National highway N3, and in the
contrary direction with one truck lane, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 7.5 m
of carriage-way. the design speed is V=60Km/h.
 The lef-turn from Russian parkway to Veng Sreng boulevard with one truck lane,
and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 6.0 m of carriage-way; the design speed is
V=25Km/h (R=28m);.
 The left-turn direction from National highway N3 to National highway N4 with one
truck lane, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 6.0 m of carriage-way; the
design speed is V=45Km/h (R=70m).
 The left-turn direction from Veng Sreng boulevard to National highway N3 with
one truck lane, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 6.0 m of carriage-way; and
the design speed is V=35Km/h (R=50m).
b) On ground (Level 0):
 The straight direction from Veng Sreng boulevard to National highway N4 with
two truck lanes, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 9.0 m of carriage-way; the
design speed is V=45Km/h (R=70m).
 The right-turn direction from Russian Parkway to National highway N4 with two
truck lanes, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 9.0 m of carriage-way; the
design speed is V=60Km/h (R>125m).
 The right-turn direction from National highway N4 to National highway N3 with
one truck lane, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 5.5 m of carriage-way; the
design speed is only V=20Km/h (R=25m).
 The right-turn direction from National highway N3 to Veng Sreng boulevard with
one truck lane, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 5.5 m of carriage-way; the
design speed is only V=12Km/h (R=15m).
 The right-turnt direction from Veng Sreng boulevard to Russian parkway with
one truck lane, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 5.5 m of carriage-way; the
design speed is only V=12Km/h (R=15m).
c) Underpass (Level -1):

 The left-turn direction from National Highway N4 to Russian parkway with two
truck lanes, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 9.0 m of carriage-way; and the
design speed is V=60Km/h (R=150m).
 The straight direction from National highway N4 to Veng Sreng boulevard with
two truck lanes, and one mix (car + motorbike) lane – 9.0 m of carriage-way; and
the design speed is V=45Km/h (R=70m).
2) The scope of work
2.1 Topographic Survey
a) The system of benchmark points for coordinate and elevation
 The elevation-coordinate benchmark points of 4th class
o Purpose:
The system shall be used for development of elevation-coordinate
benchmark systems of lower technical class, that shall be used for
topographic detailled survey.
o Kind of the beachmark systems: State Coordinate-Elevation System
o Number of the benchmark points
 On the project area there are two (02) points.
 Location of the points:
 One is located along Russian street; the another is along
National Highway N3.
 They must be located outside the construction area, no far
from demarcation line of the construction area; and non-easy-
demolished.
 Material of the benchmark: Concrete
o Technical requirements:
 The coordinate benchmark points:

3 Mean Squared Accuracy for sids 1/120.000

 The elevation benchmark points:

 The coordinate benchmark points of 2nd class
o Purpose:
 The system is used for surveying topographic plan of the
construction area; and
 Shall be used for determining coordinates of construction objects
during construction time.
o Number of the benchmark points
 Eight (08) points; the distance between them is about 80÷350M.
 Location of the points:
 On each ramway of the intersection there are two points;
 They must be located outside the construction area, and no
far from demarcation line of the construction area; and must
be non-easy-demolished.
 Material of the benchmark: Concrete
o Technical requirements:
 Accuracy of instrument:
 For angle:  5".
 For length:  ( 5mm+3ppm x D).
 Accuracy of mesurement:
 For angle: a   10".
 For length of each side   1: 5000.
 For relative distance : fx2  fy2 :  S  1: 5000.
Where:
 fx : accuracy along X axis.
 fy : accuracy along Y axis.
 S : Length between two the GPS points of 4th class.
 Accuracy for closing angles :  20" n (Where: n is nuber of
measureing angles)
 Accuracy for position of a point:  50mm

 The elevation benchmark points of the technical class


o Purpose:
 The system is used for surveying elevations of detailled points of the
construction area.
 The sysstem shall be used for determining elevations of construction
objects during construction time.
o Number of the benchmark points
 Eight (08) points.

 Locations of the points are united with the above-mentioned
coordinate points of 2nd class.:
o Technical requirements:
fh   30 L (mm), where L is the measuring total length (KM).
b) The topographic plan of the construction area
 Purpose:
o The plan is used for surveying terrain condition of the construction area:
elevations, coordinates of detailed objects as, roads, houses, water
drainage, electric line…; and
o Shall be used for determining demarcation line of the project.
 Scale: 1:1000
 Technical requirements:
o The maximum distance between the surveying points is 10M;
o All of the structural objects as houses, electric poles, caching holes of
drainage system, centre lines of rampways, bondary of the rampways,…
 Limitation of the surveying plan
o The plan arrangement of the approved alternative is used to preliminarily
determine the occupied-land line of the project;
o The surveying limitaion line is far from, and behind the above-mentioned
occupied-land line of the project.
c) Investigating the existing condiotion of the infrastructure system
 Water drainage system:
o Direction of drainaging,
o Dimensions of drainage structure,
o Location of the outlets.
 Water-supply system:
o Locations of rampline,
o Dimensions of pipes,
 Electric power line, telecommunication line:
Technical characteristics as power, high clearance above the existing ground
surface (or deepth of them under ground).
d) An official topographic survey report must be edited under a nummeric file’s type
and a printed document.

2.2 Geological Survey
a) Purpose
The survey is to clarify geological condition of the at-surveying- area’s ground
base, by result of that shall be used for design of foundation of the structural
objects.
b) Number of boreholes: Four (04)
c) Locations and deepth of the boreholes:
 One is at the center of the area – at a common place of the underpass and
the 1st flyover of the straight direction from Russian parkway to National
highway N3. It shall be mainly used for design of two these subjects. The
deepth of its is 45 M.
 One is at a place on Russian parkway. It shall be mainly used for design of
the 2nd flyover left-turned from parkway to Veng Sreng boulevard. The deepth
of its is 45 M.
 One is at a place on Veng Sreng boulevard. It shall be used for design of the
2nd flyover left-turned from parkway to Veng Sreng boulevard, of the 2nd
underpass, and of the right-turn rampway flyover. The deepth of its is 45 M.
 One is at a place of National highway N4. It shall be mainly used for design
of road pavement of the highway. The deepth of its is 6 M.
d) Technical requirements
 Terms for boreing stop
o If the boreing still don’t reach to 45M of deepth, but a high bearing
capacity’s layer (sand, stiff clay, half-stiff clay – SPT ≥ 40) with a minimum
thickness of 10M is found – Stop;
o If the boreing has reached to 45M of deepth, and a high bearing
capacity’s layer (sand, stiff clay, half-stiff clay – SPT ≥ 40) with a minimum
thickness of 6M is found – Stop;
o If the boreing has reached to 45M of deepth, and a high bearing
capacity’s layer (sand, stiff clay, half-stiff clay – SPT ≥ 40) is found, but the
thickness of its is stiil not 6M, so the boreing must be done until reaching
thickness of 6 M – Stop;
o If the boreing has reached to 45M of deepth, and a high bearing
capacity’s layer (sand, stiff clay, half-stiff clay – SPT ≥ 40) is still not found,
so the boreing must be continued until the deppth, where a high bearing
capacity’s layer with a minimum thickness of 6 M is found – Stop.
e) Testing
 Site Test: SPT of each ground layer, the distance between tem is 2M.
 Labor Test: All of basic mechanic characteristics of each ground layer must
be given.
f) An official geological survey report must be edited under a nummeric file’s type
and a printed document.

2.3 Design
 The Basic Design Document
o The basic design shall be done on base of the approved concept design.
o On the basic design the under-mentioned matters shall be considered:
 Two the flyovers:
 Superstructure:
 Completion of detailled arrangement of the traffic
carriage-way;
 General dimensions of :main girder, tower, pavement;
 Material kinds of the structure;
 Number of stayed cables;
 Type of connection between the main girder and the
pier structure.
 Substructure:
 General dimensions of :piers,
 Kind of piles,
 Dimension of piles,
 Pile Number,
 Pile’s general arrangement for each pier, abutment,
 Predicted pile length.
 Two the underpass:
 Superstructure:
 Completion of detailled arrangement of the traffic
carriage-way;
 Dimensions of the bearing cover (wall, beams, slab),
 General arrangement of drainage system:
- Location, general dimensions of ditch, cach
holes, water container;
- Power of pumps.
 Structure of pavement
 Foundation:
 General dimensions of foundation,
 Kind of piles,
 Dimension of piles,
 Pile number, pile arrangement of each section,
 Predicted pile length.

 Approach roads:
 Completion of detailled arrangement of the traffic carriage-
way (cross-section);
 Plan arrangement of the road;
 Longitudinal profile of each ram way;
 General structure of retaining wall,
 Structure of road pavement.
 The intersecion:
 Plan arrangement of each rampway, of the center area;
 Structure of road pavement.
 General arrangement of drainage system:
 Location, general dimensions of pipe (or ditch), cach
holes, outlet;
 Kinds of main materials.
 Lighting system:
 General arrangement of poles: location, general dimensions;
 Kinds of lamps.
 Total consume elictric power.
 Traffic safety-control devices:
 General arrangement;
 Kinds of main devices.
 The Detailed Design Document
o The detailed design shall be done on base of the approved basic design.
o On the detailed design the under-mentioned matters shall be done:
 Two the flyovers:
 Superstructure:
 Detailed dimensions of each the main girder’s
segment, and of pavement, rail…;
 Detailed material kinds of the structure;
 Detailed arrangement of prestressing cables,
anchors, non-prestressing reinforcement;
 Concrete value of prestressing force for cable lines
 General construction method of the main girders.
 Substructure:
 Detailed dimensions of piers, abutment;

 Detailed arrangement of reinforcing steel for each
pier, abutments.
 General construction method of the pile, pile cap.
 Construction steps.
 Two the under-pass:
 Superstructure:
 Detailed dimensions of wall, beams, slab;
 Detailed arrangement of reinforcing steel;
 Dtailed structure of drainage system:
- Location, dimensions of ditch, cach holes,
water container;
- Power of pumps.
 Structure of pavement: Thickness, kind of material
 Foundation:
 Detailed structure of piles: dimensions, arrangement
of reinforcing steel;
 Correcting pile number of each segment.
 Construction steps
 The intersecion:
 Detailed plan arrangement of each rampway, of the center
area;
 Detailed structure of road pavement: number material layers,
kinds of material, thickness of each material layer.
 Detailed structure of drainage system:
 Location, dimensions of pipe (or ditch), cach holes, outlet;
 Kinds of materials.
 Construction steps.
 Lighting system:
 Detailed arrangement of poles: location, dimensions,
material;
 Detailed kinds of lamps.
 Correcting the total consume elictric power.
 Construction steps.
 Traffic safety-control devices:
 Detailed arrangement: Location, structure of each device;
 Kinds of each device;
 Construction steps.

3) Implementation schedule
 Basic Design Document : 45 days, after the contract has been signed.
 Detailed Design Document :
o Two the flyovers : 90 days after the moment of approval of the basic
design:
 Substructure: 30 days after the moment of approval of the basic
design:
 Pile foundation of piers, abutments:15 days after the
moment of approval of the basic design;
 Bodies of piers, abutments:15 days after the day of
submission of the pile foundation document. :
 Superstructure: 60 days after the day of subbmission of the
substructure document.
o Two the under-pass: 75 days after the moment of approval of the basic
design, and the moment of submission is simultaneous with the approach
bridges’s document.
 Pile foundation:15 days;
 Superstructure : 60 days.
o The intersection: 30 days, the day of submission is simultaneous with the
document of the approach bridges.
o The lighting system: 30 days; the day of submission is simultaneous with
the intersection’s document
o The traffic safety-control devices: 30 days; the day of submission is
simultaneous with the intersection’s document
 Total duration for the detailed design: 90 days.
 Total duration for design of two stages: 135 days (Not included the time for
approval of the basic design).
4) Documentation
 The basic design document: The whole of the studied matters shall be
assembled in a document.
 The detailed design document
o Volume 1: The 1st flyover
 Sub-volume 1: The Substructure:
 Section 1: The Pile Foundation
 Section 2: The Pier-Abutment Bodies
 Sub-volume 2: The Superstructure:
o Volume 2: The 2nd flyover
