MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

PROCEDURE
Introduction (10 min)
(1-2 min) Hook/Attention Grabber: Teacher will talk a bit about themselves in Spanish (making sure to use verbal forms
of ser and estar). Then students will play two truths and a lie as a class or in small groups using “Yo soy/Yo estoy…”
(again the example will be formed with ser and estar and written on the board). This is an example of Type 4 grammar
practice. Then the teacher will explain the upcoming task here and allow for questions.

Body (40 min)

Learning Activity:
o For the task the students will be asked to take a picture of themselves using their device (teacher will provide iPad
for those that don’t have a phone). Using this picture as a reference they must describe themselves, later the
writing will all be redistributed among the class. Students will then have to try and find the person that wrote the
excerpt based on the description (Type 5 grammar task). They will then return the writing to the person who wrote
it.
Closure (10 min)
Consolidation/Assessment of Learning:
Students will pair with a partner and they will edit one another’s for accuracy.
